Angra Mainyu (アンラ・マンユ, Anra Manyu?) is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in Final Fantasy X-2. It is typically a powerful variant of the Ahriman.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII-[]
Angra Mainyu appears as an enemy encountered during "The Frustrated Recruiter." It is a dangerous enemy with access to Ultima, and can inflict various status ailments with its Hell Gaze.
Final Fantasy X-2[]
Angra Mainyu appears as a superboss wandering the Bikanel Desert during the excavation minigame. When encountered in early chapters it is an unwinnable battle as it forcibly ejects the party. Finding the Ten Cactuar Gatekeepers allows the party to finally fight and defeat it in chapter 5.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
Angra Mainyu appears as the first boss of The World of Darkness alliance raid, in reference to the Ahriman from Final Fantasy III. It uses unique variations on the Level ? spells in Level 100 Flare and Level 150 Death, which trigger if the combined level of player characters in their area of effect is a multiple of the associated number. As every character in the raid should be level 50, they will respectively trigger for every 2 or 3 characters in the area.
Final Fantasy XVI[]
Angra Mainyu appears as a boss in the Sagespire as part of the "Echoes of the Fallen" DLC.
Final Fantasy Brave Exvius[]
Angra Mainyu from Final Fantasy X-2 appears as a boss during the "Arid Assault!" event.
Etymology[]
Angra Mainyu in the Avestan language and Ahriman in Middle Persian is the Zoroastrian idea of the devil, meaning "destructive spirit".
