Anarba of the Dataq is a non-player character in Final Fantasy XIV. He is the son of Khalja Khan, brother of Altani and cousin of Sokhatai. Anarba appears in the series of FATEs "The Dataqi Chronicles" in the Azim Steppe.
History[]
During one of their temporary camps, the Dataq tribe is attacked by a pack of Steppe Gedan. The enemies are defeated, but because the smell of blood attracts more predators, the Dataqi are forced to migrate early to a new location. On the way they are ambushed by a group of Ugundi warriors. The Dataqi manage to win the confrontation thanks to the Ugundi being drunk, but Khalja fears they will return with reinforcements and mobilizes the Dataqi away.
On the way, they find Gurbesu of the Goro alone being attacked by mammoths. The Dataqi defeat the animals and set up their camp at the location and Sokhatai tends to the injuries of Gurbesu who was unconscious. When Gurbesu wakes up, she explains that her tribe was destroyed in a Matanga raid, and while she was hunting to replenish supplies, she was attacked by the mammoth. While she was explaining, a group of Matanga found and began attacking the Dataqi settlement. After the Matanga are chased away, Gurbesu says that she will leave to search for her tribe and the Dataqi respond by saying that they will accompany her. The party finds the Goro being attacked by the Matanga and arrive in time to save them. Again, the Dataqi set up camp to treat the wounded. Anjana, the Matanga leader, returns and attacks the camp in full force but is defeated. Finally free of threats, the Goro and the Dataqi say farewell and go their separate ways.
