Anacondaur is a Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII used to play the minigame and for turning into items with Quezacotl's Card Mod. Anacondaur is the eighteenth card in the inventory, the sixth basic Level 2 Monster Card.
Being a Level 2 card, the card values on the Anacondaur are not strong. Its value placement may be useful for games that use Same and/or Plus. It is a poison-elemental card and may be the first card with the poison element the player comes across. The element is used for when Elemental is in play. Elemental is encountered halfway through the game at Fishermans Horizon, though it is also a rule in Dollet and the Queen of Cards can be paid money to introduce new rules to a region. Placing the Anacondaur on a tile with the matching poison symbol boosts its vales by +1. The boosted values are not counted towards Same/Plus triggering, but do count towards Combo mechanics.
Obtain[]
The Anacondaur monster has a 3.5% chance to drop the card. Using the Card command on a Anacondaur has a 93.7% chance to procure a Anacondaur card when it succeeds.
Any AI Triple Triad player who uses Level 2 cards has a chance of using Anacondaur in a play, from where the player can win it in a card match.
The pub owner in the upstairs of his establishment in Dollet will invite Squall to his "VIP room" after Squall wins a game of Triple Triple against him. Talking to the pub owner at the secret room has him gift a set of cards to Squall, including Anacondaur.
Card Mod[]
A Anacondaur card refines into a Venom Fang with Quezacotl's Card Mod ability. The fangs are good refine items themselves, turning into Antidotes (ST Med-RF), Dark Ammo (Ammo-RF), and Bio spells (ST Mag-RF). However, the tentacles made from Malboro cards are a superior farming method for the spell.
Physical version[]
