Amon/Moonring Blade
Amon is an optional boss in Final Fantasy III. He can change his elemental weakness with Barrier Shift, similar to Hein.
Stats[]
Battle[]
While he resembles Hein, he is not very strong and focuses on physical attacks, usually attacking with magic every two turns. Keep on healing with a Devout and attacking with everyone else (a Magus should use his best spells to cause as much damage as possible) and eventually this enemy will go down, awarding the Moonring Blade weapon picked up before the fight. It is recommended to avoid using Drain or any Lilith's Kiss items after a Barrier Shift, as it may reverse the effects of the spell or item and end up killing the user instead of healing them.
Other appearances[]
Final Fantasy Record Keeper[]
Amon uses Barrier Shift to change his elemental resistance randomly between fire, ice, and lightning, so attack with abilities like Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder when the time is right, kupo! He's not resistant to Slow, so that can come in handy too! To withstand the powerful spells he casts, bring someone who can cast buffs like Shell! He's resistant to break debuffs, so abilities like Armor Break won't be very effective, kupo!
Dr. Mog's Advice.
Amon is fought as a boss in the Eureka, Part 2 Core Dungeon, as well as in some Final Fantasy III events. He will periodically cast Firaga, Thundaga, and Blizzaga on the party, and can change his elemental affinity, variably being weak to fire, lightning, or ice. Amon's elemental magic of the same element will be stronger depending on his weakness. He is immune to all statuses but Slow.
Etymology[]
Amon, also spelled Amun, is the name of a supreme god from ancient Egypt. There is also a demon of the Goetia named Amon.
