An accomplished--and thus highly feared--bounty hunter. Amarant is a skilled fighter, and his thick mane of red hair has led many to call him the Flaming Amarant.
Amarant is a playable character in Final Fantasy Record Keeper who could first be recruited during the Challenge Event A Place to Call Home as the First Time Reward for completing the event's stage Madain Sari - Pursuers on Classic difficulty. His recruitment process differed from the usual three-battle stages in that he had a single-battle stage with no enemy waves before or after him, which made him one of the quickest characters to recruit in any event. He was also awarded upon completion of the Bonus Quest, "Complete Gizamaluke's Grotto Elite (IX)", and was later reissued in Angel of Death. Amarant also appears as a boss named "Scarlet Hair" in dedicated Final Fantasy IX stages.
"Pugilist" is a fancy word for a fist-fighter, but "Monk" is an even better word to describe what Amarant does for a party. Like Refia before him, Amarant can attack from either rank, and he has strong physical stats to support his role. His Soul Breaks include skills that support other party members as well. His Speed is an asset, as is a broad range of usable skills.

His default Soul Break is No Mercy which at the expense of one Soul Gauge segment deals physical damage to one target. The fist Scissor Fangs (IX) allow Amarant to use Aura which at the expense of one Soul Gauge segment grants Shell and heavy Regen to all allies.
