Alexander - The Fist of the Son, known by players as A5 or M1, is the first turn of the Raid Raid Alexander: Midas in Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward.

Normal[]

Although you succeeded in destroying the core of Gordias, it seems that was only a temporary measure. The walking fortress has stirred once more, and its left arm now rests on the banks of the Thaliak. The entrance lies open and unguarded, suggesting the goblins inside are as surprised as you. Take advantage of your enemy's unreadiness and face the Illuminati threat once more—hopefully for the last time.

Engine Room #334[]

This area contains a number of steam vents to avoid and platforms and windows to jump through. After passing through this area the party will jump down into the Clevering. This area does not appear on Savage difficulty.

The Clevering[]

This golden room contains two Fausts. After a certain amount of time has passed or both Fausts are defeated, Hummelfaust will spawn and tether to any remaining Fausts, likely wiping the raid. This, along with Hummelfaust's enrage, serve as the DPS check requisite for entering Midas.

Advanced Clevering[]

The party fights Ratfinx Twinkledinks here. He alternates between his giant and normal sizes, with different mechanics for each. Standing in the center area will cause two Goblixers to spawn: purple will turn anyone who consumes it into a bird, allowing them to dodge Boost but preventing them from taking action for 15 seconds, while the red will transform a player into a Gorilla, allowing him to knock away the bombs that Ratfinx unleashes when he casts Bombs Away.

When the boss is giant, he will stack Headache on the main tank. Four stacks will result in a Concussion, and the off-tank should Provoke to prevent a wipe to the tank buster that Ratfinx will cast immediately after. The boss also casts Boost immediately after transforming, necessitating the use of the purple Goblixer. When the boss is small, adds also spawn, which the off-tank should pick up and the DPS should burn.

On Savage difficulty, there are four Goblixers: the green Goblixer removes the Anti-coagulant debuff inflicted by Glassy-eyed Cobras, while the blue causes enemies to drop enmity on the user and is used to prevent adds from tethering to DPS.

Musical themes[]

"Sins of the Father, Sins of the Son" plays throughout the duty prior to reaching Advanced Clevering. "Locus" plays during the battle with Ratfinx Twinkledinks.
