A good strategy is give a [[Maiden's Kiss]] to the [[Toad (Final Fantasy V)|Toad]] before Alcyhmia casts Ribbit. The spell will transform the beast into a frog again and she will vanish, making the fight impossible to lose. Alternately, if the party kills the Toad first, the Alchymia will cast Death on party members until she is defeated.

Alchymia is an enemy in Final Fantasy V. She appears with an orange Toad.

When entering the battle, Alchymia will mutter speeches like "Touched not by a maiden's kiss" and "Cursed being, become like this." After the second speech, Alchymia will cast Ribbit on her unnamed pet, and immediately use Vanish, removing herself from battle. The Toad will then transform into one of three enemies: Ghidra, Red Dragon, or Bone Dragon.

A good strategy is give a Maiden's Kiss to the Toad before Alcyhmia casts Ribbit. The spell will transform the beast into a frog again and she will vanish, making the fight impossible to lose. Alternately, if the party kills the Toad first, the Alchymia will cast Death on party members until she is defeated.

Players can also steal the powerful Man-Eater from them.

Etymology

Alchymia is the Medieval Latin form of the word alchemy. The word "alchemist" comes from "alchemy". The latter comes from Old French alquemie, alkimie, used in Medieval Latin as alchymia. This name was itself brought from the Arabic word al-kīmiyā (الكيمياء or الخيمياء) composed of two parts: the Late Greek term khēmeía (χημεία) and the Arabic definite article al- (الـ), meaning "the". The Arabic word al-kīmiya borrows from the Coptic word for "Egypt", kēme.

Alchemy is an influential philosophical tradition whose practitioners have, from antiquity, claimed it to be the precursor to profound powers. Its defining objectives vary but historically have included the creation of the fabled philosopher's stone, transmuting base metals into the noble metals, and developing an elixir of life to confer youth and longevity.

Though alchemy played a significant role in the development of early modern science, it differs from modern science in its inclusion of Hermetic principles and practices related to mythology, magic, religion, and spirituality.
