Description
Al Bhed Potion is an item in Final Fantasy X that can be used in battle by the Use command. It is a powerful item that restores each party member's HP by 1000, while curing the Poison, Silence, and Petrification status effects.
Early on, Al Bhed Potions are useful in battle as a quick cure, making Rikku a useful alternative to Yuna for healing. Later on, they are better used with the Mix command. Al Bhed Potions cannot be used for customization and do not teach abilities to aeons.

Al Bhed Potions are fairly abundant, but cannot be purchased from shops before piloting the Fahrenheit airship. They drop from various enemies in Bikanel, including Sand Wolf, Zu, Mushussu, Alcyone, and Sandragora. They can also be stolen from Mech Defender, Mech Hunter, and Mech Gunner, making it easy to heal during battles against them. Al Bhed Potions are also found around Bevelle, Bikanel, and Home. They can be bribed from Mech Defenders, Mech Hunters, and Mech Gunners, though this is an inefficient use of gil.
After the party has the Fahrenheit, Al Bhed Potions can be purchased from Rin's Travel Agency aboard for 1,000 gil.

Al Bhed Potions cure the entire party at once, and heal Poison, Silence, and Petrification. This makes Al Bhed Potions extremely turn-efficient as Wht Magic spells can only cure one character at once, and there are no Wht Magic spells that can both restore HP and heal a status effect. Early on, Al Bhed Potions are extremely useful, and as only Rikku normally has access to the Use command (unless Kimahri was taken down her path), they make her a valuable party member and a viable alternative to Yuna.
Later in the game, 1000 HP means comparatively little, and there are better ways to heal characters or simply protect them from ever being inflicted by statuses in the first place through auto-abilities. This means that Al Bhed Potions drop off in usefulness, and are better off being used with the Mix command.

Al Bhed Potions can be used various curative mixes. For Ultra Potion, Ultra Cure, Megalixir, Mighty G, Al Bhed Potion can be used as the first ingredient to create them.
Al Bhed can also be used as the second ingredient in Ultra Potion, Panacea, Mega Phoenix, Final Phoenix, Megalixir, Final Elixir, Mega Vitality, Hyper Vitality, Mana, Mega Mana, Hyper Mana, Freedom X, Hero Drink, Blaster Mine, Nega Burst, Firestorm, Thunderbolt, Rolling Thunder, Waterfall, Flash Flood, and Icefall.
In many cases, simpler items, such as normal Potions, can be used in place of Al Bhed Potions for similar mixes. However, as Al Bhed Potions become less useful later in the game, it is a worthwhile use of them.
