Aigaion (アイガイオン) is a monster and major boss in the Final Fantasy Exvius Universe making its debut in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius and later in War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.

Profile[]

Aigaion is a mechanical giant of unknown origin who brings destruction upon detecting any life form. It is colored in a mostly light blue-ish hue with some traces of purple. It has taloned feet with three digits each. Its torso is most recognizable by the red orb at the center, its core, encased in fanged contraptions capable of shooting beams. Aigaion possesses bulky, round shoulders with large curved black spikes. Its arms are disjoined lacking elbows but connected to the "biceps" through a glowing mechanism. Aigaion's fists are bulky limbs with thick round armor on the forearms adorned by crystal-shaped plates. These fists have an array of functions and weaponry; The Left Arm leans towards offensive being able to morph into a cannon or even a drill arm. The Right Arm is equipped with supportive functions like augmenting defense or offense or even healing properties. Both arms can be self-repaired by the main body. Aigaion has a somewhat humanoid head with a blueish light glow instead of eyes donning a helmet with a long spiked front.

Appearances[]

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius[]

A mysterious giant weapon that suddenly appeared. When it was created, who created it, and what it was created for is completely shrouded in mystery. The only thing known about it is that it moves when it detects any form of life near it, and will bring destruction to it until the target is eliminated. Some believe it to be a messenger of god based on the mysteries around it and the unbridled power it holds.

Bestiary description

Aigaion makes its debut in Brave Exvius as the boss of the trial Machina of Destruction. At the time of introduction, Aigaion was widely considered the most infamous boss at the time, sporting much bigger HP and power than previous bosses. The reason for its difficulty was the battle's complexity attributed to his Arms and its functions. The Left Arm was strong enough to KO one party member per turn with its sole move, while the Right Arm performed supportive and healing duties. While the Arms could be destroyed, they instantly regenerated up to a certain limit. This particular property while considered the easier approach could drag the battle for several hours, and to add salt to injury, destroying the arms caused the Boss's behavior pattern to change making it more difficult.

Attacking Aigaion's main body is considered the faster, but more difficult route as it required outdamaging the Right Arm's healing, while resisting Aigaion's ultimate attack World Destroyer. It could be weakened with Water or Lightning damage, but past a certain point it could unleash a devastating counter. If the main body is felled before its arms, the arms will adopt increased aggression.

The Scorn version of the fight features a much stronger Aigaion, but the overall fight has been simplified over its predecessor battle, no longer requiring as much time to clear or choosing between separate course of actions. Aigaion now, harasses the player with different elemental attacks, status ailments and even instant death. Making the battle a bit tougher, each new pair of arms comes with a different monster type, making it harder to damage through killer boosts. The fight's toughest challenge lies in defeating the 3rd sets of arms with Magic, which is complicated due to Reflect buffs.

War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius[]

A gigantic, humanoid being covered in armored plating that is eccentric in both color and form. In the very least it does not seem to be a monster or the like, but rather a metallic giant created by an unknown hand at a time also shrouded in mystery. While it stands as still as stone when inactive, it displays mobility far greater than that of any human the moment it takes to action. It unleashes unbridled destruction with an array of attacks that is beyond anything human, launching its arms and firing intense beams of heat from the red core at its center. Due to the mystery of its origin and its overwhelming power, there are those who believe the Aigaion to be an emissary from an unknown source.

Vision Card description

Aigaion appears in game as a recurrent enemy featured in events, but is also a summonable Vision Card and Esper.
