The Ahriman is a class of monster in Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift. Winged, cycloptic entities, their single eye can inflict a multitude of debuffs on target units, most of them relying on making eye contact with their targets.

Simply facing units away from or even sideways to the Ahriman will make them immune to their gaze. Ahrimans retain their signature move, Roulette. They are Flying units and cannot move in water. Ahrimans should not be confused with the smaller Floating Eye species.

The Ahriman's evil stare afflicts those it lights upon with a variety of ailments.


The gaze of this giant eye can freeze foes where they stand.

Evil Eyes only appear in Brightmoon Tor. They also have the Brightmoon Tor secondary ability skillset of Turning.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Angra Mainyu in the Avestan language and Ahriman in Middle Persian is the Zoroastrian idea of the devil, meaning "destructive spirit."
