Deal a large amount of wind damage and pull target closer.
Description
Aeroga is a magic spell in Final Fantasy VII Remake and "Episode INTERmission". It is the highest-level spell granted by Wind Materia, making it the most powerful Wind-elemental spell above Aero and Aerora. Aeroga deals a large amount of wind-elemental damage, but has a higher MP cost and a longer casting time. Against enemies that are not immune to wind, Aeroga also interrupts/knocks them back.

Use[]
Aeroga costs 21 MP to cast with the level 3 wind materia equipped. It deals twice as much damage compared to the base Wind spell, Aero and 1.25 times more damage compared to the second tier Wind spell, Aerora. The spell has many uses against higher-level flying enemies, which are weak to the wind element. It can be used both to deal great damage, as well as to pressure and stagger enemies, as this is especially important against flying enemies that are otherwise harder to hit. Among its peers— Firaga, Blizzaga, and Thundaga—Aeroga is the most effective against flying enemies in the majority of cases, and its ability to pull targets closer can very be beneficial to Cloud and Tifa, or Barret while using a melee weapon.
Wind spells bypass obstacles and appear on the target. They can inflict hit stun when they first appear. Like ice spells, wind spells experience a short delay before detonating, which in the original PlayStation 4 version can allow enemies to dodge out of the area of effect. In Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, wind spells stick to enemies, and are guaranteed to hit after a short delay.
Aeroga is the strongest wind-elemental spell in terms of raw damage output. However, its longer cast time means that there are situations where Aerora may be preferred, as Aeroga can be more easily interrupted or avoided. Additionally, when preserving MP, it may be preferable to cast Aerora, and save Aeroga against staggered or pressured enemies.
The spell can be effectively amplified by pairing the wind materia with Support Materia. Both HP Absorption Materia and MP Absorption Materia can be great to heal a character significantly or improving their MP sustainability, and Magnify Materia can make the spell very useful against a group of flying enemies, especially to drag all enemies towards a melee character and cluster them together. However, users of wind materia are more likely to give this slot to pair it with Elemental Materia, since the materia most benefits Cloud and Tifa to mitigate their weakness against flying enemies. Aeroga can be used effectively with Aerith's Arcane Ward to cause it to be cast twice.
Etymology[]
Aero is a Greek prefix relating to air and flight. Common usages in modern times include the words "aeroplane" and "aerospace". The "-ga" suffix denotes it is the level three form of the base Aero spell.
