FFXIV Adrenaline Rush Gauge

Adrenaline Rush gauge.

Adrenaline Rush (アドレナリンラッシュ, Adorenarin Rasshu?) was a PvP mechanic in Final Fantasy XIV. When participating in PvP duties, each player would gain an adrenaline rush gauge that, when filled, allowed them to execute powerful actions dependent on their role, similar to Limit Breaks in PvE. Adrenaline Rush was replaced by Limit Breaks in patch 6.1.

Mechanics[]

Adrenaline Rush replaces Limit Break Limit Breaks in PvP duties, and functions similarly in executing role-dependent actions. Unlike limit breaks, each player has their own gauge to fill and expend at their leisure.

Damage dealing adrenaline rushes do not deal physical or magical damage, instead dealing Limit Break-type damage. This damage cannot be a critical or direct hit, and its damage is unaffected by effects caused by players. However, this damage may still be influenced by effects caused from outside factors, such as NPC-induced effects or environmental effects.

All adrenaline rushes are unaffected by abilities that reduce cast time, and when used have lengthy animations that prevent the user from moving, which can leave them vulnerable. Adrenaline rushes are unaffected by the global cooldown.

Gauge generation[]

Participating in combat will gradually fill the adrenaline rush gauge over time. Landing killing blows or assists will grant further gauge. In addition, the gauge can be filled in duty-specific circumstances:

  • The Feast The Feast: Adrenaline crates will periodically spawn as an object. When destroyed, an Adrenaline Kit will drop on the ground. A member of the team that dealt the most damage to the crate can pick up the Kit by walking over it, which will fill their gauge by 25%.
  • frontline: The Adrenaline gauge fills 1.25x faster for the team in 2nd place and 1.5x faster for the team in 3rd.
  • rival wings: The Flying High Flying High status doubles the rate at which gauge is generated. It is gained upon accruing 20 stacks of the Soaring Soaring status from defeating enemy players or completing map-specific objectives.
    • Hidden Gorge Hidden Gorge: Obtaining the Gobbiejuice supplies with fill the gauge for all members of the team that captured it.
