Addle (魔攻破壊, Makō Hakai?, lit. Magic Attack Destruction) is a recurring ability in Final Fantasy series. It reduces target's Magic.


Final Fantasy XII[]

Addle is a Technick that lowers one foe's Magick Power. The effect does not expire and will stack.

In the original version, Addle can be bought in Rabanastre and Archades for 3,500 gil, and can be used for 30 License Points. Addle lowers Magick Power by 50%, has a charge time of 45, and a base accuracy of 66%.

In the Zodiac versions, Addle can be used for 50 License Points by the Foebreaker, Archer, and Time Battlemage, although the Time Battlemage must acquire the license for the Esper Zeromus first. It is found in a hidden area of the Henne Mines Special Charter Shaft, in a chest that has a 10% chance of spawning. Addle has reduced accuracy and effectiveness and charge time compared to the original, but Safety no longer works to null the effect, meaning they can now be used against the toughest of foes, including the superbosses. Addle lowers Magick Power by 30% plus 1, has a charge time of 35, and a base accuracy of 45%. A good gambit setup for boss battles is Foe: HP > 90% = Addle/Wither to lower the enemy's power right at the start.

Final Fantasy Record Keeper[]

Addle is a Burst Mode ability attached to Ark Blast. It is a Support-type ability with charge time of 0.83 seconds, which deals physical damage equal to 200% potency to one enemy and reduces its Magic by 50% for 15 seconds.
