Acheron is an enemy from Final Fantasy III, fought in the Forbidden Land, Eureka. It is a rather powerful enemy when first fought, but can be dealt with through the use of strong physical classes such as Knight and Monk. It is advised to have at least one character devoted to healing and reviving in case a party member is KO'd, but it is otherwise not overly difficult compared to later enemies.

Other appearances[]

Final Fantasy XIV[]

Acheron appears as an enemy inside of the Syrcus Tower as an enemy part of the second enemy group. When fought, Acherons will use the Quake ability. The enemies appear as smaller variants of the Phlegethon boss from the Labyrinth of the Ancients.

In addition, the boss Phlegethon inside of the Crystal Tower: Labyrinth of the Ancients raid, was known as Acheron when the raid was first released, however the boss was renamed after the Acheron enemies were added into the Syrcus Tower. However, this boss was known as Titan in Japanese version of the game as reference to the boss of the same name from Final Fantasy III.
