ATB Boost materia is a Command Materia Command Materia in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Its ability, ATB Boost, doubles the user's current ATB gauge. It is best used to turn one full ATB charge into two, allowing two ATB abilities to be used (or when turning 1.5 charges into 3 when under United Refocus). Unlike most command materia abilities, ATB Boost does not appear on the menu, but is activated by pressing L1 + R1.

The materia returns from Final Fantasy VII Remake using the rebalanced cooldowns from Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.

Obtained[]

ATB Boost is bought from Chadley's Materia Development for 15 Corel Region data points.

Use[]

ATB Boost doubles the user's current ATB gauge when used, but has a lengthy cooldown between when it can next be used. It can thus be used to fill the ATB gauge when half full, the most common use. This allows abilities or spells that require two ATB charges to be used, or two use multiple abilities in quick succession. In particular, higher-tier attack spells (namely Firaga Firaga, Blizzaga Blizzaga, Thundaga Thundaga, and Aeroga Aeroga) that require two ATB charges can be charged much quicker when using ATB Boost.

ATB Boost materia can be used to great effect with First Strike Materia First Strike Materia, that begins battles with an ATB gauge filled. This means it allows the user to instantly begin a battle by using ATB Boost, and thus to start with two ATB charges ready to go. ATB Boost can also be coupled with materia such as ATB Stagger Materia ATB Stagger Materia or Skill Master Materia Skill Master Materia to build ATB faster. The synergy ability United Refocus is also very effective when used with party members with ATB Boost equipped.

ATB Boost is particularly effective on Tifa and Yuffie due to their ability to build ATB quickly, allowing them to build their charges even faster. Aerith, who frequently casts higher-tier spells that require ATB, and Barret, who has many abilities that require two ATB charges, can also be great beneficiaries of the materia. ATB Boost can be good on Cloud to top up right when an enemy staggers to use Infinity's End. When used on ATB Ward, the player can boost everyone's ATB with one character's ATB Boost.

ATB Boost can be randomly used via Gamble, but it will cost an ATB segment then and still incur the cooldown.
