This Week's Fight - Celes vs Garnet
This Week's Fight!
Votes for Celes
This will be another example of IX beating VI, though it is Garnet a IX character that I enjoy too. >_> NeoZEROX 02:22, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
Very hard choice. Celes, on the grounds that I've played FFVI a lot more than IX. In terms of character, they're both my epic, but I've always known Celes and loved her. Plus blode hair = <3 TheBlueDragoon04:26, August 1, 2011 (UTC)
As Zidane would say, Easy-peasy. I never really liked Celes, she wanted to steal Terra's position as main protagonist. That's unforgivable. Garnet on the other hand is my favorite female character, so no contest for me here. --RazielZero 00:23, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
Garnet is my favourite lady of Final Fantasy. 02:29, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
I had Garnet in my party far more often. King of Noobs 03:42, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
"Ate mo naku samayotteita Tegakari mo naku sagashi tsuzuketa Anata ga kureta omoide o Kokoro o iyasu uta ni shite" - This will forever be linked to Garnet in my heart, and I will love this forever - And Garnet with it. MirrorshardSceada 19:27, August 2, 2011 (UTC)
I really like Garnet, she's probably my second favourite FF9 character. And, she's a summoner, so... UltimateAnnihilation 15:19, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
Ok, Although FFVI is my favourite FF game, Celes has never been a real favourite of mine,When I had to have her in my party,it was a struggle to fight with her...That mystic knight cliché...the rune ability, well, not the strongest one!But even if she has a "DIFFERENT" (XD) fighting style, visit the opera, and listen ARIA DI MEZZO! Doesn't this General have a beautiful voice? :-$ --LonelyRose 08:00, July 29, 2011 (UTC)
Xepscern: You need to present the evidence, otherwise it's completely worthless. SquallRocks: A few of us discussed your vote on IRC, and came to the agreement that you've insulted Garnet -- SorcerorNobody 22:03, July 31, 2011 (UTC)
I don't think comparing a dog-rocket-launcher-weilding-person to a summoner is an insult, I think it's a compliment. xD SquallRocks05:57, August 1, 2011 (UTC)
She is nowhere anything like Rinoa other than the color of hair :D Though I don't have any problems with Rinoa, she is nice. --RazielZero 11:59, August 1, 2011 (UTC)
Well, uh, I don't know about that. On the basis you have named alone, Garnet likes animals while Rinoa fires them like a cannonball in what can only be described at best as a questionable animal rights act. Expanding the terms a bit further, Garnet is strong-willed and independent whereas Rinoa is strong-willed and quite clingy. Garnet is shown to be competent at making plans, it just happens that her enemies far outstrip her in terms of strength. Rinoa, on the other hand, makes a number of plans, each of which is more staggeringly incompetent than the last. Kidnapping the president by switching his train car with an "exact duplicate"? Odine bangle? Aside from the slight physical resemblance, I really cannot see anything that these two have in common. Jimcloud 18:27, August 1, 2011 (UTC)
Sigh, well I really can't come up with anything to counter that, since what you said is true. But, my first impression with Garnet was the resemblence of Rinoa, with the looks and speech. SquallRocks13:40, August 2, 2011 (UTC)
That I will grant you. They both come from a relatively privileged upbringing, after all. And I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings, I didn't mean it that way at all ^^ Jimcloud 14:40, August 2, 2011 (UTC)
Hahaha hurt my feelings? Naaah, I'm just deppressed that I couldn't come up with anything witty! =D SquallRocks06:08, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
While I still have to play both of their respective games (meaning DoC and X-2), I have played their original games. And it is just like Bluesey said: Vincent is forgetable in VII, while Yuna is the single most important character in X. Easy choice as such. MirrorshardSceada 14:10, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
Votes for Vincent
Not even close to a contest. Jimcloud 00:01, July 22, 2011 (UTC)
Its time... to shave the world. The SirLaguna 00:36, July 22, 2011 (UTC)
Not really a tough choice. He doesn't do a near 180 with his personality in all the games/extra stuff he's in. Plus, gotta give him the "Secret Character" props. King of Noobs 02:21, July 22, 2011 (UTC)
I heard DoC was a bad game that ruined Vincent, but he's actually one of the strongest gunners ever (Death Penalty = win - when charged). SidVI 12:03, July 22, 2011 (UTC)
Aw, don't base Vincent on DoC thats biest (no offence)Clarent (talk/contribs) 22:29, July 22, 2011 (UTC)
Why not? People are basing Yuna on X-2. Aside from that, basing Vincent on FF7 basically means sticking Yuna of any sort against a silent, no-personality excuse for a character. Yuffie was a secret character and got lines. Vincent just hung around for battle.
Aside from that, X-2, from personal experience, is pretty much in all ways better than DoC. For one, it has one of the best battle systems in the series. For two, Yuna doesn't do a 180 so much as she's just had a lot of time between games to grow. Yuna in X-2 is the product of her actually trying to live for herself after a lifetime of never owning her own life and, from experience, it's portrayed quite well. Yes, even the clothes. I have a closet full of clothes I can no longer comfortably wear in public. >.<
Vincent on the other hand started out as nothing and didn't exactly improve from there given his own game. I found it very hard to empathize with him because he STILL had no personality, only he had more lines to express it. He has a story; just not a character. Red XIII was characterized better than him and has the dubious distinction of having the least screen time outside of the original game of any of the main cast. BluestarultorBSA 02:06, July 23, 2011 (UTC)
Bluesey, you win The Game, the Internet and the World. THANK YOU! Someone else who agrees with me on everything you just said. TheBlueDragoon05:46, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
Um, I meant base them on their individuality and personality, not by the games..anyway,ah wellClarent (talk/contribs) 06:55, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
it is INDEED hard to decide! But somehow,I feel that, this fight isn't equal...If we look at them as characters, who have their own games and sidestories, both of them would be weak(I think!),but somehow,I love and hate these characters a lot at the same time!Yuna is a REAL main character:without her,the story couldn't go on,but Vincent was not necessarily an important part of the whole game.Yuna had a kind personality,(What changed a lot since the main game!)and Vincent was not the talkative type, but that made him so cool!Yuna nearly lost her life,at a high cost, but at the end,she survived everything, and she got back her love...these are things, that are not true for Vincent... by the way, summoning beasts, will never be as intresting,as being the beast itself! So,this is why I decided to choose the gunner, but Yuna is also a well created character of the series, and If I had the chance,I'd choose both of them!
You are awesome at creating text walls..(no offence)Clarent (talk/contribs) 22:55, July 26, 2011 (UTC)
I had forgotten about Vincent's Limit Breaks all together. Yeah, add on points for transformation. King of Noobs 13:28, July 24, 2011 (UTC)
I think I wouldn't call it a TEXT WALL, I'd rather call it the flood of my passionate emotions through words! Colosseum is about (Friendly) Fighting, not just signing a vote, huh?--LonelyRose 08:23, July 27, 2011 (UTC)
