I had considered it in place of Summoner, but I felt the diversity between these four worked better. DoreikuKuroofangu 04:20, July 15, 2011 (UTC)
It's not just Red Mages that are missing... what about Time Mages and Green Mages? Also, since you're counting Summoners as a type of mage, what about Elementalists, Geomancers and... well, any others that I might have forgotten? :P -- SorcerorNobody 14:19, July 16, 2011 (UTC)
True on all counts SN, but none of those except the Time Mage are as widely known or used in the series as these four. DoreikuKuroofangu 16:48, July 16, 2011 (UTC)
Ok, take them one by one:
White Mage: Heals... and ... thats all... anyways, they are only annoying for me!
Summoner: I'd happily choose them, because summoning is a beautiful part of magic, but it is extremely costly, and summons are risky to use, because many times, they don't work as well, as we'd expect!
Blue Mage: Well, this job certainly looks intresting, but it's not as easy to use, as it seems. Going around, searching for certain monsters, then get hit by them, and at the end, we don't know how to use them... Ok... Weird...
And the vote goes to:
Black Mage: The shady faced little sprite became the No°1 Icon of FF games, and no wonder, it still acts pretty good. Magic has always been stable. All of us know the difference between a FIRE and a FIRAGA spell, and we know what we can expect from them too... Healing is not always necesarry, summoning can be risky, and blue magic is hard to use, but a simple spell like BLIZZAGA, can wipe out our enemies easily. Soooo... Easy to use, easy to get used to, and always looks pretty good... ohh, and by the way, they can equip daggers and knives, so it can also cause some major physical damage, unlike the other mages .... :-D --LonelyRose 21:21, July 17, 2011 (UTC)
Story-wise:tie. Battle-wise:Ashe. Lightning can only be with Fang and Hope unless you are dumb enough to do secondary roles early. Where as Ashe, Balthier, and Vaan can kill anythingAlVan 06:27, July 8, 2011 (UTC)
The decisions that Princess Ashe makes and the role she plays in changing the fate of Ivalice to liberate her home, Dalmasca is the reason why she gets the vote. SidVI 12:23, July 8, 2011 (UTC)
Ashe had a unique role and storyline in her group of six compared to Lightning, I think. Also Time Mage ^^ 8bit 15:48, July 8, 2011 (UTC)
^ What they all said. Lady Ashelia all the way. And this was going to be this weeks fight in the Den. Back to the drawing board. >.< TheBlueDragoon06:46, July 9, 2011 (UTC)
....Why...Why does Lightning have to be everywhere? WHYYYY? She is not that good, she is not that original, she is not such a huge invention at all! I stick with Ashee, because she is pretty at least.--LonelyRose 11:15, July 9, 2011 (UTC)
Perhaps if I could judge Ashe on more than the beginning of the manga (where she is just plain useless and whiny) and the early parts of XII (where she doesn't strike me as special), my vote would be different. But alas, I have still to understand Gambits and finish XII, and right now learning for my exams has priority. So I'll stick with the one that has the most awesome character theme.
