Hi ! Does anybody have news/know something about a sheet music book on sale in a whatever editor/publisher, from Piano Collections's F.F. Crystal Chronicles album ? :) Or is it already released..?? Thanks for your "breaking news" ^ ^!
I'm still not 100% sure which one, my best bet is Esto Gaza, and listening to both they do sounds somewhat similar, but at the same time it's like there's some other theme in FFIX's soundtrack that's even more close to Great Salt Lake's theme from FFVIII.
I had to pause the game while in the region in order to write in the guide and that allowed me to listen to the music and my mind went completely " This is familiar. I've heard this in FFIX."; I just can't 100% pinpoint which track it is. Right now I gotta continue the game and the guide, so it's not very pratical to be listening to FFIX's soundtrack while playing just so I find the track I'm thinking of. Still, I do have a strong feeling it might really be Esto Gaza.
Has anyone else noticed this? Or was it just me?
Something interesting I spotted on the Japanese wikipedia page for Chocobo Racing.
The soundtrack for Chocobo Racing is almost entirely songs from Final Fantasy games, arranged by Kenji Ito.
The most obscure track is Mogri/Moogle Forest.
On this site, the page for Moogle Forest says the song is an unused town theme from Final Fantasy VI. https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Moogle_Forest
The page for the soundtrack is different, and says it is "Approaching Premonition" from the Final Fantasy VI Special Tracks album. https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Chocobo_Racing_Original_Soundtrack
It turns out Kenji Ito used to have his own website, which is now dead but is archived. The site had an interview section, and in one of the interviews he explains what the track is:
https://web.archive.org/web/20090625204345/https://ito.cocoebiz.com/interviews/interviewjp3.php
I can't read Japanese, but using Google Translate it seems that the track is actually a variation of the FF Main Theme, and uses the chord progression from the Main Theme with a different melody.

This is actually part of my post leaving my reviews for the games after I finished all I've got, but since the post is so big, I can't post it. I've tried shortening it, but it wasn't enough and there are things that I just can't short. This is one of them and one that I really want to share. So, I'm doing this post for that. I didn't changed a word, I copy pasted the text.

I've heard someone say FFX's music seems like someone punched a piano. Well, I guess I love piano, because I love the soundtrack of FFX. It's relaxing, calming, but also manages to match well despair, fear, danger. Now FFVII.... FFVII is a total lullaby. The entire soundtrack! And it isn't as relaxing as FFX's is! It's like, the complete opposite! I was falling asleep EVERY 5 seconds merely because of the music. I love music and it's usually the one thing that unables me to fully hate a game. I guess FFVII really is special, uh? Because only memorable musics are "Cosmo Canyon" and "Those Chosen by the Planet". These are basically the only ones I remember that are awesome! Now, obviously there's the so aclaimed "One Winged Angel" that is only memorable for how FRICKING ANNOYING it is. Seriously, can someone free whoever is singing this? It feels like someone is dying!
While I'm writing this one paragraph, on 2nd February, I am listening to the soundtrack of FFVII. There are moments where I question myself if this truly is FFVII or FFVIII. Seriously. For example, "Opening/Bombing Mission" reminds me of Dollet's mission in FFVIII; "Mako Reactor" reminds me of some scenes in FFVIII, namely some with Seifer; "Anxious Heart" reminds me of moments with Rinoa or Edea or even Squall's past and some moments with Ellone; "Tifa's theme" reminds me of Rinoa; "Flowers Blossoming in the Church" remind me of Raine; "Underneath the Rotting Pizza" reminds me of Timber; listening to "Don of the Slums" was giving me mixed thoughts, on one side I could see a fat creep (Don), but on the other I could feel something about FFVIII, not sure what, I reached the conclusion it might have been Delling City; "Infiltrating ShinRa Headquarters" was also reminding me more of FFVIII, namely Galbadia Garden; "Holding my Thoughts in my Heart" first reminded me of any common sleep theme, but then I started to imagine Winhill; "Rufus Welcoming Parade" is Dollet's theme to me (it did remind me of the little scene in FFIX that is a reference to it, but I later understood it was Dollet. It was away more familiar than just a little moment); "It's Difficult to Stand On Both Feet" was actually reminding me of Steiner from FFIX (yeah, it wouldn't always be FFVIII, but the most were), "Continue" first sounded like Alexandria, then Dali and then the Prelude..... That's messed up; "Mark of the Traitor" was also giving me some FFVIII vibes, not sure what, but I'm guessing perhaps something to do with Irvine or the D-District Prison, I don't know, it still sounded like FFVII as well though; "Life stream" was giving me a mix of past Squall, Ellone and Raine vibes, as if it was them in Winhill, "The Nightmare's Beginning" was really reminding me of Kuja and one of the musics associated with him, "Cid's Theme" reminded me of Lindblum Castle, but at the same time I could hear a somewhat connection to the sky and thus Cid; "Forrested Temple" reminded me of the sorceress's theme in FFVIII, the main melody only, the rest was more unique; "You can hear the Cry of the Planet" gave me a FFVII vibe, but at the same time I was thinking of Ipsen's Castle, Terra and Pandemonium while listening to it, so confusing; "A Secret Sleeping at the Bottom of the Sea" was giving me some weird FFVIII vibes, I tried to understand what it was, I figured the Deep Sea Research Center, but the music was also making me think of Eshtar somehow; "Who am I?" was giving me sorceress vibes from FFVIII, of both Adel and Ultimecia. Only a few gave me a FFVII vibe, the others only make me think of FFVIII or, to a lesser extent, FFIX. I know FFVIII came after FFVII and in terms of music it followed a similar path, and probably even used samples of FFVII's tracks, making it obvious that the music of one would reminisce the other. Yet, FFVIII's music has a certain vibe to it and FFVII's has another, separating both games. However, while I'm listening, I hear more FFVIII's vibe rather than FFVII's, which shouldn't happen. And yes, I did wrote this while listening to the soundtrack, that's why so many tracks are spoken of.
Not only did it took me a long time to finally find this track, but it's also cool how it only plays when fighting bosses of Record Keeper, which is relatively rare to happen story wise.
Still, one of my favorites. I always love when I hear it.
It has no right to go that hard OH MY GOD. Same for Ruined Hometown
Also Snow Villiers is hot as fuck in XIII-2 compared to XIII
Let me explain.
The first part relates to musics you can be found humming frequently. Just state those if you do it. If not, go just for the second part.
The second relates to those tracks that never leave your head and before you know it, there they are, playing once more.
Any questions, feel free to ask
I have a feeling this might be a bit confusing right now
Anyway, I'll do my top 10, one for each part (you can just choose one)
Songs I frequently hum:
Rebel's Theme (FFII)
Terra's Theme (FFVI)
Shadow's Theme (FFVI)
Searching for Friends (FFVI)
Cosmo Canyon (FFVII)
A Place to Call Home (FFIX)
You're not Alone (FFIX)
Someday the Dream will End (FFX)
To Zanarkand (FFX)
Valse di Fantastica (FFXV)
Songs that don't leave my head:
Rebel's Theme (FFII)
Bartz's Theme (FFV)
Terra's Theme (FFVI)
Shadow's Theme (FFVI)
Searching for Friends (FFVI)
Cosmo Canyon (FFVII)
Liberi Fatali (FFVIII)
Kuja's Theme (and any music related to him, to be honest) (FFIX)
Suteki Da Ne (FFX)
Otherworld (FFX)
From what I could find, no one's done an English cover of One Winged Angel. Example:
🎵Burning inside
With violent anger
Burning inside
With violent anger
Sephiroth
Sephiroth🎵
Hello, spoiler tag for a mid-game question.
I am trying to find the piece of music that plays when Vanille discusses the origins of the Arks and their function as training grounds for l'Cie once the group reaches the Concealed Vestige within the Fifth Ark (in Chapter Ten). Thank you in advance, I thoroughly enjoy the music in the game!
Kadaj: Now I'm a piece of your enemy's soul,
And I wield his cool sword,
I've summoned Shadow Creepers here,
But that had gotten me bored!
I want to be a one-winged angel,
And cause Meteorfall,
Cause being one-third of the man,
It ain't no fun at all!
Oh, cough cough cough!
I wanna be like Sephiroth!
I wanna fight like him
And bite like him, ooooh!
Yes, Cloud, it's true!
That man I'll be-e-e,
And so-o-o will Loz and Yazoo-o-o!
Now here's your part of the deal, brother:
Lay on me the location of Jenova's remains!
So, I was doing some Realm Dungeons in Record Keeper, and I was continuing the FFVIII ones. I'm already at Ultimecia's Castle.
We can listen Ultimecia's Castle music before we enter in a battle, and while I was listening to the music, because I enjoy listening to the musics, and Ultimecia's Castle is actually a very cool music, I made some crazy connections.
So, the music starts with what appears to be a happy tune, and I automatically associated it with FFI, more especifically Garland, since he is the villain from there. I also slightly associated it with FFIII, and so Cloud of Darkness. Then the music changes, and becomes more dark, and the first thing that comes to my mind is Pandemonium and Emperor Mateus from FFII. The tune changes a little again a little later, and now it gives me FFIII vibes, and again Cloud of Darkness. Suddently, the music changes like completely and it sounds like there are machines in the background, which leads me to FFVII and Sephiroth, while the melody that plays leads me to FFVI and Kefka. A little later, the machine sounds are gone, and only the melody that resembles Kefka remains. Then the music restarts from the Pandemonium state and plays on repeat, without crossing the FFI resemblance ever again.
At first I couldn't associated FFIV and FFV, but I would put them alongside FFII.
So, my conclusion is that Ultimecia's Castle music has a part that resembles a previous mainline.
Go listen to the music and tell me your opinions!
Is there really someone that's stupid out there to put their kids life in jeopardy play the game to the end where you lose your kids life it's ridiculous that you have people that has played this game and got nothing out of it but death.
Hi,
According to this page of this wiki, there is a Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy version of Final Fantasy II Main Theme . It is said that an arrangement is used as Firion's world map theme.
However, I have not been able to find any sample of this arrangement on the web. Can someone direct me to a link?
Thanks!
In Dissidia FF NT you can hear a calm version of massive explosions in pretty much every cutscene involving the cast talking with each other
Can someone tell me where I can find it?
Hey, i've been searching this song in the 8 discs of the Remake soundtrack but i can't find it (maybe it's a moment in a song and i'm missing it?).
It's very strange because it re-use a major melody of FFVII and is present during an important moment of the game. Anyone have a clue?
The youtube link is at the correct timestamp but if it don't work go at 6:32 (Don't click if you didn't finished the game !!! SPOILER)
