Game help
The wiki says the golden frog is either female or male, but you obviously don't know by grabbing it (I always grew up hearing it is always male, but that's how the old teachings of my father work, we don't really know many of the secrets of the game that way).
Anyway, it says a way to discover the gender of the frog is by leaving behind a male, a female and the golden frog, exit the marsh, save, go back and catch either the male or the female. If the female is caught and when you next exit and re-enter the marsh the pond is empty, the golden frog is male, and vice-versa.
My question is: the pond being empty means both the golden frog and the one that wasn't caught stay or does it means tadpoles appear? Because I did what the wiki says; I initially caught the female because it was the first I managed to grab, and when I next visited the golden frog and the male were there. Then I resetted the game and caught the male frog instead, but still went back to check just in case. The frogs were gone, but there were two tadpoles. I never saw anything like it, and I'm now confused.
So I recently tried to launch Final Fantasy XIV Online on My Mac Laptop which is a 2020 model, and whenever I get to the launcher I log in and it starts a 70,000 mb update and then gives the message saying "FFXIV could not complete the update" at around 800 mb and on a similar note the load time was 436 minutes. which is roughly 7 and a half hours, I don't know the problem but I just wanna play the damn game
My friend, who plays pc, wants me to join them on the FF mmorpg, but I have a PS5. Do I have to have a PSN subscription fee and a FF subscription fee to play?
Kinda worried about investing in online mmos on a PS5 after the, erm, thing with Helldiver II…and I am very hesitant after playing Blizzard titles with subscription fees.
Thanks for any feedback
Well, I know HOW - give it greens.
But on this current playthrough, it always finishes the greens too fast before I can kill all the enemies, and at least one is in the back row behind the chocobo so it goes slower.
I tried throwing my last two Greens in a row before attacking the enemies, but it still runs away and now I gotta spend thousands more on more greens. Or would, but I shut the game off to restart just like when that bandit stole my only tent.
Is there a trick to this? What greens are best for this? (I thought Mimett, being most expensive, would be most effective but it eats them too fast)
I might have to give up this playthrough if I cannot catch the chocobo.
I am approaching chapter 12 of the remake and I noticed that steal kinda sucks. Even with 50 luck it fails a lot. What is the formula used for remakes chance of stealing?
Last playthrough, I used Tents to heal while leveling the party off of dinosaurs, and saw all the Shadow flashbacks, which play every other time or so that you sleep.
But this time, on the Pixel Remaster for Switch, I only got the first flashback, and after resting at a few tents until I reached Level 60, nothing. I wondered whether maybe tents didn't work here so I rested at the inn in Thamasa, where better for Shadow, right? (Plus it's really cheap) Like three times. And nothing.
Am I doing something wrong? Or did they cut all the Shadow flashbacks except one from the Switch version?
I'm not even sure how many times I have attempted this. I'm properly equipped with materia and gear. I am using a Magic Up. I am at max level. My one issue is that my poison skill isn't doing much damage. The last two attempts I got it to 5% just to get defeated by the machines mainly. I can deal with the tonberries but the machines are a tad excessive. I loaded up an Enya song on YouTube and that ALWAYS makes things better. Any advice for me? It isn't a skill issue. I'm a skilled gamer.
First time playing remaster version of FFX. US version didn’t have the dark aeons. I’m trying to get Masamune and I know the dark Magus sisters are supposed to be hanging out on Mi’hen high road.
My question is do the sisters appear if I have not unlocked or acquired that aeon yet? The other aeons I have come across but those are ones unlocked during the main game like Valefor and Bahamut. Do the optional aeons’ dark versions appear if they have not been acquired by Yuna?
I already did this on my New Game Plus but I wanted to see if I could beat Ba'Gamnan and his crew on my first playthrough at Level 64, however, I couldn't find the Belito hunt among the elite marks.
I remembered from New Game Plus the other Bangaa mentioned the Trickster so I painstakingly did the Trickster hunt, returned to Montblanc, still no Belito. Am I missing something here?
And I looked it up and it said you can do the Belito hunt ANY time after Draklor Laboratory, meaning that it isn't even necessary to defeat the Trickster, it just gives extra dialog.
I know I have a post on this already but I'm not getting any responses for how to do this if at all possible. If I don't get answers I am never playing this game again and deleting it off my Switch and demanding a refund.
1.) Is it at all possible to change a character's license? Characters in the game said you could do so at the bar but it seems you can't, I went over to the bar to change the license but it still wouldn't let me. I want to use a spear instead of a dagger as it will be a better weapon, not only slightly stronger but also better range as well, yet because I used a dagger to kill enough enemies to sell stuff to buy a spear...
So, is your character stuck with whatever license you first put them to and they're only stuck with one type of weapon, magick, technick, etc., and potentially screw you over if you don't set any White Mages? Or the right character as a White Mage leaving you in some scenarios without any?
And if so, which ones do you recommend I give each characters? (Well, the dagger one Vaan is stuck with)
2.) How do I change party leader? It says I can but I didn't find that option on the party menu or the field/battle menu. (I really wanted to play as Balthier once I get him)
Also, when I get 4-6 party members, will I be able to choose my party like in the original version or not?
3.) Gambits. I can turn them on and off on the field/battle menu, but there's nothing in that or the party menu about how to set gambits. How do I do that? Why is this game either telling you you can do stuff you can't, or so cryptic as to how?
I gambled and got it for Switch. It will be a while before I get around to playing it, so until then, any tips I should know about, particularly for things that might be easy to miss, and in some cases, only have one chance at? Such as the Blood Sword from II, Ultima from VI, powering up the Freelancer in V, the Ribbons in VII, etc.?
Again, this is the Zodiac Age version, the only one you can find on Steam (and the easier of the two, from what I hear, unless you're more familiar with the original, also from what I hear)?
If it's something that getting it is harder than the boss or enemy it helps you beat, it might not be what I am looking for.
And whatever level up system it has or the whole "license" system whatever that is (I didn't pay much attention to that on the playthrough video I saw), it'll be easy to figure out once I start playing (similar to the Paradigm system in XIII), right?
I am not part of this wiki, but does anyone know how to access splitscreen on Chocobo GP? (I have the "LITE" version) Thanks!
This is after beating Ymir, after Valigarmanda kills Biggs and Wedge, when you have only Terra.
I can't remember if there were enemies in this section of the mines in the previous Steam version, but there are here, and one of them, Bandits, takes two hits to kill, and can do a significant amount of damage to you before you do. I got down to like 10 HP.
If I can't figure out some trick to getting to the end of this section (the point where you fall through the floor and see Kefka for the first time in flashback), then this playthrough is over.
(And please, no hurtful comments, or else I really will give up 100%.)
I've tried a few times, but the chocobo never goes to the correct chest. It always goes up, when it should get to the chest that's below.
I read you can blame anyone but the Prophet to get it, I blamed Rikku. I should be able to get it, right?
Why is it not working, then?
Once I either beat or give up on Final Fantasy VIII, I've also gotten FFX on Switch while it was on sale. Which sounds like it might be fun and not too difficult as it's sometimes been recommended as the first game for beginners.
So, the usual, what are some critical tips that first-time players might not think to do? Stuff that would be too easy to miss like the Blood Sword in FFII, Mog in FFVI, the Ribbons in FFVII, etc.? Some hidden strategies to otherwise difficult bosses (like having Kain jump before Bahamut's Mega Flare in FFIV, or powering up Freelancers by maxing certain jobs in FFV), etc.? Stuff like Thievery, Dragon Crest, and Frog Drop in FFIX?
Also, should I use my Pro Controller for it and connect it however you do that? I'm paranoid about joycon drift with my main controller, as some motions with the control stick can cause that and ruin every game for you until you send it in to Nintendo to get it fixed. Because I know X is more 3D than the first nine and might not use control pad for motion at all (correct me if I'm wrong here).
I have some questions regarding FFXII.
- Do Red Chocobos lv.99 still spawn after Reddas is no longer available or do they only spawn if Reddas is in the party?
- Are Magick Pots necessary to get Ba'Gamm, the figure in the Sky Pirate's Den you get by completing the bestiary, and if so, how do you give them an Elixir?
Last night I beat Final Fantasy V. Which means, after taking a bit of a break (watching Jungle Cruise and stuff), I will start my Final Fantasy IX playthrough. It MIGHT be the last game I play for the first time (though I do have a PS2 to play X on if I wanted to, am NOT playing VIII and not in a rush to try out XII and XV either).
So, any last-minute tips or things I should know going into it?
(Also, for V, stuff like how to do Fork Tower - which I read on TV Tropes "That One Level" and get Coral Rings and equip them before fighting Twintania, would have been useful to know, and it was by pure luck I summoned Odin against Phobos, Triton, and Nereid, as he one-shots them. I barely beat him though (I had six seconds left) but with dual wielding and Rapid Fire it might have been a faster battle)
I’m trying to download FFXIV online to my laptop, but an error keeps appearing during download. Advise?
Five days away from the Steam release of Final Fantasy V, and now might be a good time to ask for tips in advance.
So, if I understand right from what I heard already, there's the job system, which is different from III, as your job levels don't increase your stats, just give you new moves, and for each job you level to maximum, that character's Freelancer becomes more powerful, and it takes a max level Freelancer to beat Exdeath.
And there's some strategies for Atomos I took note of. Like cast the Blue Mage attack that halves the level then cast Level 5 Death (forget which enemies you learn them from but took note of them already).
So, any things that are missable that I am likely to overlook? (Like some powerful items or hidden Ribbons? Seeing as how there is one window to get the Blood Sword in FFII) And which jobs should I go with at the start? (Of course I'll want one White Mage, but I will be able to switch easier. Who should be the White Mage? Or does it matter?)
Are there any other ways of beating Exdeath that doesn't involve maxing every character's job?
Also, I know in the final dungeon there are two superbosses. Will I know them when I see them and be able to avoid fighting them, like Emerald Weapon? Or will they jump out of a chest like Imperial Shadow and get me a game over in the middle of the final dungeon?
