I feel like the FFVII-EC/ FFIX crossover is alluding to a remake. If they just wanted an in-series crossover, they likely would have gone with FFVIII, FFXIII, or FFXV. They could have promoted FFXVI. There didn’t seem too much of a reason outside of early remake promotions.
Might I ask what version of it you were playing?
The funny part: Dissida was originally going to be KH game. In one of the games, Tifa’s Premium Heart still has the heart in the background of the KH logos.
…What about Shinryu? It’s stronger than all the mainline villains in the story of Dissidia. Don’t know if it counts.
The fun part: none of this actually happened in FS. It was only alluded to near the game’s close with a letter saying you were recommended to join their team. And yet the protagonist character is still not present. I feel like they could have at least tried to involve a little bit of what happened in-game, and maybe make a little sense of it.
As far as I am aware, squaresoft was its own company. It had the FF franchise. Enix was a separate rival company. They later merged due to financial instability on square’s part,
I enjoy red mages as well, due to their versatility. I also like black mages and dark knights.
Maybe, but it feels redundant, seeing we are already playing a JRPG. D&D, as well as other TTRPGs, likely wouldn’t translate well. It would probably wind up like FF (the first) but with dice.
I didn’t remember that. My bad.
We were talking about rebirth.
Spoiler?
FFVIII needs a remake. That game was interesting, and I think it needs its shot at a “natural” game.
I think that they shouldn’t reappear in remake. Correct me if I’m mistaken, but they are based in Midgar, a city we won’t visit in this game (goes up to the event at the ancient city, for the unaware.). Rather, I believe that they would reappear in the third installment of this trilogy. We return to Midgar later, and Vincent should be playable. Plus, Hojo’s forms would be hard to translate into the game’s current style, and that could be removed to open up slots for other bosses.
That form is used for end of game in the original, and I don’t see that changing. Rebirth only goes up to the forgotten capitol.
Oh, okay. I haven’t gotten that far into that game’s story.
While this comment acknowledges that Seph is not a P0, I forgot entirely about that detail. Thank you for pointing it out
While you are correct, my statement still stands. Perhaps they don’t have J. Cell, but each can still take on a hearty sum of the infants that defeated Zack.
EDIT: Also, thought that I would bring up the fact that Seph was a P0 at the beginning of his career.
I think Cloud beat out Zack. Zack was killed by an army of infantry. Now, if any of you played First Soldier, you may remember a limited game mode where a three players defended some machine while about 30 or so (don’t quote me; I can’t remember exactly) SOLDIER players had to tear these machines down. The three players were given the advantage of playing as powerful enemies. One was Bahamut, one was Sephiroth, and the last was… either a Cactaur or Bomb. I cannot tell you how disappointed I was to get that last one three out of my four times. Anyways, Sephiroth would be able to charge in and just destroy anyone. He alone would be able to defeat everyone at least once, and lose about a fifth of his HP. And these were Class:P0 SOLDIER. If you read the loading tip in Ever Crisis, P0 was the grade given to all SOLDIER when the project first came to be. So this was likely a mix of 3-1 class SOLDIERS. This shows how much more powerful this army was compared to the one that Zack was taken down by. Cloud, at the end of AC, took this same Sephiroth out without the firearms and materia the P0 had.
On a scale of 10-10, you chose 2.
Honestly, most of my excitement comes from Vince, Cid, & the Segway.
I was unaware of this. The cast isn’t stretched thin in any way, so I wonder why. A Firion-Tidus FR does seem cool.
Firion didn’t get Tidus for a FR because he was already paired with Zack. Otherwise, that would have worked. We see the same thing happen with Bartz’s FR. He was paired with Squall due to their relationship rather than similarities.
Cool post!
