What if all the worlds from every game literally merge to become one world?.

Hey i'm new to Final Fantasy, I started recently playing XV and thought it was pretty cool while trying to also learn about the previous games, i'm aware each game takes place in a new world so I honestly want to ask is there a timeline and canon to the series itself are the worlds in the same universe are they like The Solar System each world is a planet and everything do certain events from a past game affect a later game, do characters cameo in a game, any references, or is every game juss standalone??.
