Why do some people not want a happy ending?
The whole XIII trilogy, doesn’t deserve the hate it gets; especially LR.
I think most people’s issues with Lightning Returns are that they don’t understand the time mechanics. I invested in a guide for it and was the best £15 ever spent, allowed me to use the time most efficiently to complete every quest, get the extra day and the better ending.
I never understand the hate for FFXIII.
I have completed all 3 games and enjoyed them very much.
I think if you plan to play FFXIII-2 then you also need to plan to play Lightning Returns FFXIII.
Oh and invest in a guide book, not so much for the walkthrough but for all the side quests, plus it is invaluable for LR to use the time efficiently.
Have read all but The Kids Are Alright.
Both On The Way To A Smile and Maiden Who Travels The Planet are definitely worthwhile for those who have finished Original FFVII and are going to watch Advent Children, as these help to explain what has happened in the 2 years in between. Although the Advent Children Complete DVD comes with OTWTAS case of Denzel as a short animated feature included.
Traces Of Two Pasts is fantastic. However does contain some slight spoilers for anyone who hasn’t finished the Original. The backstories of Tifa and Aerith being really fleshed out gives a lot more depth to their characters.
Hate him so much.
I’m hoping that there is some big payoff for creating this guy. I’m halfway through Rebirth and in one and a half games he has done nothing to advance the storyline.
Literally no point so far.
Plus the fact he is so irritating to listen to that I don’t think I care even if there is some back story that will get revealed in time.
And an unhealthy obsession with his motorcycle.
Yeah, I remember the weather in the early part of XII, wasn’t there a particular hunt that was only present when it rained? There was a NPC who would forecast the weather in the next region so you knew whether the fiend would be there.

Both FFXIII-2 and Lightning Returns are great games. You do need to play them in order though.
Don’t worry about the time limit in Lightning Returns as you get dozens of opportunities to extend time - in fact you have to do so to get a fuller understanding of the ending.
As for the Snow thing, I’ll let you play the game to understand his motives.

I always had trouble with one of the Lightning towers in the Thunder Plains.

Yep correct boss. I try to avoid using ultima as its overpowered somewhat. My preferred strategy is to use magic hammer twice.
Yeah Seymour Flux is a right nightmare.
Two others that give me a hard time are from FF7:
Lost Number - love the design and mechanics though
Carry Armour - until I read the strategy on this wiki regarding its laser attack.
I think they did it so FF7 could start on year 0007
I thought Weiss lost to Vincent due to Vincent learning to gain control over Chaos without needing the protomateria.
Nero only entered Weiss’ body after he was defeated.
I remember there was a cheat disc you could get for FFX which allowed you to bring items, spheres, sphere levels through into your saved game data.
Most of these questions can be answered via some searching on this very wiki; but it can be quite fun to talk about too.
From memory:
Break HP and MP is found on armour, although you may have to use customise.
Celestial weapons: Tidus - complete all Chocobo training first then find a slope in north Calm Lands. Wakka - bar in Luca after playing a few games of blitzball. Rikku - using secret code that I’m not going to reveal the name of but the two halves can be found in Baaj temple area and Kilika Woods.
You need the Celestial mirror prior to obtaining them and to power them up.
