Well, I'm at the single point I've been dreading most since starting my second Final Fantasy VI playthrough. The hardest part of the whole game (aside from bonus stuff): Floating Continent!
I'll be taking Edgar, Sabin, and Locke there (sorry Terra), but for my fourth party member for level grinding first, I'll obviously want Celes as she'll be the one who all party members except Gau will be at when they rejoin. Celes is Level 35 and the others, Level 37. I'll need to be at least Level 40 to stand a chance at Floating Continent.
But, there is a problem. The spot that gave me the most experience was Cave to the Sealed Gate, which is gone, as it is now Floating Continent. (Fortunately I got Ultima Weapon. The sword, I know the boss is at Floating Continent and I got four Angel Wings at the auction house already) There is Esper Caves, and I can now kill those Adamant whatever with Edgar's Drill, but I'd need to get two of them frequently to make any real progress. (Mandrakes are annoying as they Leech 300 HP from you, sometimes when they die)
There is one other spot I checked out: A triangle-shaped island northeast. The enemies there are weak, except for one forest section that takes up four squares on the map, with an enemy too powerful to defeat. I know I can make him visible with magic, but he keeps killing me with Meteor so I'm obviously not ready to fight him yet. (Does Runic work on Meteor?)
Edit: This enemy is called Intangir, I looked him up and he doesn't even give any experience or gil, so what's the point in fighting him? (At least I don't have to go near him again)
