I am approaching chapter 12 of the remake and I noticed that steal kinda sucks. Even with 50 luck it fails a lot. What is the formula used for remakes chance of stealing?

As one of the most-requested remakes of a Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy 6 should follow the approach taken by the upcoming Dragon Quest 3 remake.
Aside from being the game that was largely responsible for popularizing JRPGs in the West, Final Fantasy 7 was many players' first game in the series and has long been the game that is most recognizable in the franchise. Given its place in the series' limelight, it makes perfect sense as to why Square Enix chose to remake FF7 for modern audiences with Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Still, there is another (and perhaps greater) Final Fantasy title that has an oft-requested update: Final Fantasy 6, As the greatest Final Fantasy title from Square Enix's legendary SNES catalog, Final Fantasy 6 is more than deserving of its own remake.
Releasing on the SNES in 1994 as Final Fantasy 3, Final Fantasy 6 is widely regarded as not just one of the best Final Fantasy games but also one of the best RPGs ever made. Featuring a shocking mid-game plot twist and some series-best mechanics, Final Fantasy 6 is a fan favorite that seems to only get better with age, further evidenced by its popularity among the 6 titles on offer as part of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters. If and when Square Enix decides to remake Final Fantasy 6, it should implement the same template used for the upcoming Dragon Quest 3 remake instead of the full-3D re-imagining afforded to Final Fantasy 7.

One word: cringe
Hella cringe. Seriously, tell me I'm not the only one that wanted to poke their eyes out most times. I just couldn't help but be like "Goddammit, stop it stop it stop it stop it STOP IT STOP IT!!!"
Some parts I see were really awesome, like the more development on Midgar and its citizens. Was a bit bothered by it at first due to not being used to it, but quickly grew to love it, the NPCs, the places, the development it had. They really did justice to Midgar, one of my least favorite places of my least favorite game, that isn't even worth the name Final Fantasy personally. However, just like Square was drunk while making the original game, they were also drunk while making this one. Jessie was bad, definitely didn't became better. On the other hand, Biggs and Wedge were given justice and looked great. Aerith keeps flirting with people after 5 seconds of meeting them. She started dating Zack 5 seconds after meeting each other in Crisis Core, and she just goes for the same with anyone else, basically. Namely Cloud and Tifa. Cloud and Aerith still have an awful chemistry. I can't look at it and not be bothered by it. Seriously, I just can't. If you ship them, whatever, I definitely don't. Honestly, pretty much whenever Aerith was on the scene it was cringe and awful. I couldn't stand it. She was always like "You see, I've read the script of the game, I know what's gonna happen and I don't like it.". Well, I DON'T LIKE THAT EITHEIR! In the original game she was already an awful character, but still had some development for me to not be like "Please erase her. Why even bother create this?", like a certain someone. In the Remake, however, DO please erase her. I can't stand her. They made her even WORSE, and that's quite the feat, considering she was awful already. Congratulations, Square, you just keep on doing your main characters dirty like that and see how far that goes. Still not the biggest fan of Tifa, but personally she is a little better, but just a little. Her relation with Barret is one of my favorites, like a father and teenager daughter, despite being just a really strong friendship. I don't ship it, but I can see them raising Marlene alongside each other, no romance involved (let's value platonic relationships please). Tifa and Cloud....... It's a little better, but it's still weird. Square definitely wants you to know that Tifa is his main love interest, and in that point they made it a bit more obvious and better, but then you add Aerith and everything goes downhill. Heck, even Tifa and Aerith have more chemistry, and I personally don't ship that eitheir. Sephiroth appearing already, even if it's illusions and hallucinations from Cloud, most times, just......... No. No no no no no no NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!! Worst. Decision. Ever. And that ending, reflecting Advent Children more than anything, that crazy, absurdly exagerated fight. Goodness, I never watched Advent Children, can't really think I'd like it (the fact I don't even have an interest in films already gives it -1 point), and while I've seen gifs of it, know the main bullshit that's happening there, just...... Don't. The "foreshadowing" that's constantly happening, and while I say foreshadowing half of it probably won't even happen, makes it a bit cool in terms of development, of Cloud's torment and stuff, and yet...... Anyway, changing back. When will Sephiroth give a break to being gay? I mean, don't get me wrong, but personally, he's overdoing it too much. Everyone already knows, no need to spill it on our faces every cursed time you appear, Nothing. Other characters, many side characters, managed to be better than the MAIN MAIN TEAM of the game (saved for Barret, because while sometimes he looked cringe and I just couldn't stand it, his development got really really good); Square really has a power, uh. Leslie, Wymer, Marle, the Beck's band, Oates, the other kids, honestly, pretty much every random citizen, they all are far better than Cloud, Tifa and Aerith. Far FAR better. Cloud got completely ruined. Square transformed him into a lady's charmer, with the girls all over him and shit, and goddammit, don't. Let him be a closed homosexual/bi-curious or just really bad with love, but don't make it even worse than what it already was, man. And surprise surprise, I hate Kyrie and I don't even know her original story. Great start to meet a character.
Sections of the game....... I just watched cutsecenes, of course, but got quite the look of things. Rescuing Aerith: prefer none, but if I had to choose definitely the original (because it's far shorter). Wall Market: can't even decide. It was drastically changed, it's also the cringiest part of the game, I can't not be bothered by it, and yet I don't know if I prefer the original or the new version. Whatever, I guess. Shinra Building: definitely the original. It was also drastically changed, and while new puzzles were added, many were taken away (inclusive my favorite, the one where you complete Midgar). Reactor stuff: not sure. Got slightly better, can't tell if that's good or not.
The bosses appearing at different times from their original appearance bothered me, not sure if I prefer Motorball being fought while on the bike or not. New bosses, some were cool, others not really. Really liked Roche. Annoying character, yes, but not as bad as people made him seem, not on the cutscenes at least. A big show off, which does bother me a little, but for the type of character he is, he is well made. You know, like Hojo and Don Corneo. President Shinra got worse, surprisingly. I didn't like the change in his death, in you actually seeing Sephiroth stab him. Ruined it all. I didn't like the fact some knew Sephiroth was in fact there. Palmer knowing it's fine, because he does too in the original, but Hojo knowing...... Bothers me.....
Man, it's so bad, both the original and the Remake, that I can't even say I'm on the Whispers side. After all, they're trying to make sure the original story happens, and yet they also go and destroy everything because they can. I know logic is pretty weird in games, but goddammit, I thought the game was trying to add a little more logic into the original story (hence why the drastic changes at some points). But whatever, it's not like I can do anything.
I'ma stay on Shinra's side. At least they have awesome characters, and by that I mean the Turks and Reeve. Speaking of which, of the ENTIRE Remake, they are still the only good thing, alongside Yuffie's DLC, that I had watched times ago.
It's hard for me to even get my thoughts on this straight because everything just wants to come out at the same time and the words escape. But you got the idea, my opinion and position on it. A waste of time it's what this Remake is in the end.
I'm not saying it's bad, I'm not saying it's good. I'm saying it's going far more downhill that what it was aiming for for sure. 11 hours of my life, torturing myself watching it all. Now I wished Revenant Wings was longer.
I can only hope Cid and Vincent will be given amazing development like they always had and not be absolutely awful.
As for Crisis Core Reunion...... Oh Genesis, tell me they didn't ruin you too........
Hate on me all you want, I have all the right to express myself, whether it be something you like to hear or not. I don't force you to agree with me, I don't force you to disagree with me, I don't force you to even understand. I just feel better letting these feelings and thoughts out in the open.

During VII Rebirt Trailer ,Cloud Strife does a bit of voiceover work as he is explaining the goals of Sephiroth and things that happened in Nibelheim. One very bit of interesting dialogue is between Cloud and Tifa. Cloud alludes to him thinking Tifa died during the Nibel Reactor incident, where Sephiroth struck the young Tifa.
“I saw you lying there. I figured it was too late.”
Tifa is not shown on screen during this as it takes place during the walk of Cloud and Sephiroth in the Nibel mountains.
“Wait. What are you implying? That I died? That I’m some kind of an imposter?”
“What is fact and what is fiction?”
What’s interesting about this is that after the fact, the caption “What is fact and what is fiction?” pops up on the screen. It is unlikely that Tifa is dead or is an imposter, but it is certainly an interesting talking point about Cloud’s memories and his past.
I just wanted to say how helpful this fandom has been for our speed running community. If anyone is interested in how to beat the game really fast, feel free to ask!

Like the title says I finished it last night! I had fun playing this game overall. The game’s Combat, Music, World building, and 90% of its writing Is fantastic! I wasn’t a big fan of the last few chapters being very Boss heavy and some big slowdown moments like Chapters 8 and 9 (Dancing Cloud…Aerith constantly talking…) and the movement feeling very Cramped when not in combat. Yes Midgar is Cramped but the Yakuza series is an example of great movement while in cramped environments and Masculine characters dancing and it not being cringy. This isn’t bashing just want to point out some things I didn’t like about the game and hopefully Square will improve upon them in part 2. Sorry about not going into to much detail about it, I kind did in my first impressions post and those opinions on there are still felt right now. Do I recommend this game? For under 40 dollars because it took me 36 hours to beat with doing all but 1 side quest. Is it better than the original? I gotta give the edge to the original but i think it depends on if you like turned based rpgs or the more modern rpgs styles. Do i see myself playing it again? Probably a couple years down the road but not anytime soon, after I finish the Yuffie DLC I’m going to put it on shelf.

Like the title suggests i got a ps5 recently and the only Final Fantasy on there is the VII remake. I beat the original about a month ago and i was wondering what does the remake really have to offer to make me drop 60-70 bucks on it. Should i wait for a sale on it or should i not even bother?
