Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia

To celebrate the end of Opera Omnia, which happened today, I figured a quiz was a suitable way to look back at what it meant to each of us. Hope you enjoy.

Opera Omnia players must have already noticed, but the mobile game will end on February 29. Coincidentally, the same day Rebirth is to be released.

Now, Opera Omnia's end seems different from Record Keeper's end. Whilst the latter ended for lack of popularity and basically abandonment of the game, Opera Omnia will end because its story too has reached its end. Understandable. All stories must end at some point, this was no different.

Still, it's sad. The game is pretty good and very entertaining, be it the different mechanics of the characters or the very story and interactions.

There's only one thing that bothers me: Global will not get all the content the JP version got. You see, Global will only have the story until Act 4 Chapter 6, where it is right now; JP will have the fully story, until Act 4 Chapter 9. In these last three months, they could still release those story points in Global, a chapter per month perhaps, alongside Lost Chapters and Intercepting Wills. They say they will release videos with this missing content on Youtube so Global players can still get the full story, but it still bothers me. All we have now is a bunch of events to give us lots of upgrading stuff so we can complete as much as possible until the end of the game. Even Record Keeper added Arciela on Global during its last month or around that time. That said, since we won't be getting all content, I'll never get to play with Angeal, Rufus or Amarant, which I was really excited for (and Xezat is cool too, but I wasn't as excited as the others). And they could at least release the Spiritus quest of Odin; they're seriously gonna leave that one as the only one without a Spiritus quest and thus not able to reach level 50, are you kidding me!? The termination of this game seems to be kinda badly executed imo, but that's just me.

It had always been fun imagining which characters might've come to the game, from the most random picks to more obvious and possible ones. With the game ending, I'm disappointed characters like Genesis, Nero and Ravus never made it. Personally, I'd always hoped Kazusa would get added, and with certain characters already in the game that seemed much more random, I don't see why not, but I knew I'd have to wait until the end of times for it to happen. Now there's no chance. FFXVI never made it, nor did the full party of Stranger of Paradise, and don't get me started on the lack of characters from Tactics. Pretty sad other Tactics memorable characters like Delita and Cid never made it.

This does beg the question: will there be another Dissidia game in the near future? Or will they wait until more FF games are released to bring the crossover series back? Or has it completely ended.....

Man, I got to play this game for only a year. When it ends, it will be around a year and half. I got to play Record Keeper for two years before it ended. It almost seems like whenever I got to play a game it will end few years later. Welp, with OO ending, I guess I'll still have Ever Crisis. Still not sure I'll want to try Brave Exvius, but I could look into All the Bravest, if that one is still around. Or, otherwise, finally check Crystal Chronicles. But until then, I still got some time.

I mean, it's by far the least represented game, even more considering there's only two characters from Tactics while Tactics itself has tons of them (regardless if you count the Advance games or not).

Currently, we only have Ramza and Agrias as Tactics characters in Opera Omnia, and on top of that, they aren't that developed. Well, apparently, Ramza recently got a FR, which was all he was missing, Agrias is still missing both FR and BT (funny, considering that, at least on GL, she is commonly present in banners), but at the end of the day, Ramza only got both a BT and FR because he is the protagonist of Tactics. They've been handing FR and BT to "minor" characters, so to say, so Agrias could definitely already have gotten something of the sort. But anyway. It also took a lot of time for Ramza to get his FR, which just further shows the abandonment Square has given this realm.

And don't even get me started story-wise. It's already awful that Laguna basically stole what was Ramza's compass of light, leaving both Ramza and Agrias completely lost during Act 3. We don't even know where they are in Act 4; we lost them thanks to mister president, congratulations. And even before that, they didn't have a big impact story wise. They interacted mainly with the characters of FFXII, due to them also being from an Ivalice, and occasionally interacted with others. But it was also very scarce, you'd barely noticed them almost.

I sometimes wonder if this is intensional or Square just really has no idea of adding anyone from Tactics, at least not soon. I mean, they've added all Dawn Warriors, they've added Braska, they've added Nabaat, they've added a bunch of people that are far more shocking than adding Delita or Cid or Alma or others from Tactics and/or the Advance games.

This does leave me to wonder if Ramza and Agrias being "left behind" is an allusion to Tactics itself and how Ramza is a "lost hero", the true hero, but not the one that received the glories (those went to Delita, from what I understood. Orran was in charge of making sure Ramza's journey and accomplishments were written down, since no one would ever give an heretic credits for saving the world. And Orran isn't no one, so he'll do it ☺️). Still, it leaves me pretty hurt, because, although I haven't ever played Tactics, I watched its story and I really liked it. But if Square is just gonna forget about them, there's no chance Rapha will ever be added 😔 (she's my favorite character of the game, despite being opticional), considering more important characters aren't added either.

Honestly, it was quite the shock to me when I moved from RK to Opera Omnia, because in RK Tactics was a realm with lots of characters (not the most, I think, but close), so then being only met with 2 was kinda heartbreaking, tbh. It was also one my favorite realms to play around with, so you can understand the shock.

The Infobox for battles in the DFFOO is missing something but I don't know how to add them to it. I'm not that skilled with coding and such so I need help to improve the Infobox

This is a list of the things missing in the Infobox

• requirement, which store the battle and gives reward for it an example of it is requirement = 900 (Gems x20)

• The current Info box doesn't have a way to show the waves, an example of it is this

• It dose not show the text that tells you which encounter lets you recruit another character, an example of it is

First, let's go over the characters that are currently only available in the JP version:

• The whole cast of Tactics (seriously. We only have Ramza and Agrias. Where's Delita, Ovelia, Alma, RAPHA, Marach, Cidolfus, Orran, Meliadoul, Luso, Zalbaag, Isilud, etc? They're missing a lot)

• Joker (imagine having an invisible ally)

• Kazusa (I'd just like for his Burst to be his Yin form. Besides, he's my fav from Type-0)

• Guren (after all, why not? Why shouldn't they also add the rest of the four champions of Rubrum? Would make good exposure to the manga)

• Morse (honestly, he has some interesting points of view. He's crazy, alright, but that's why I love him)

• Mira (pretty much the only CC character I heard of that's not there. I don't know CC, so.....)

Of course, once FFXVI comes out, its characters will eventually be available too, little by little. At least, I believe so.

The FF Crossover mobile game...

I feel so alone lmao

It should never have to come to this. But it's been stuck in my craw since I've been playing Square Enix mobile games. I don't want to be spoiled to death about who might be coming to one of my mobile games. I don't want this or any other wiki to become another hype machine like what I see on social. I've probably got the worst lottery luck the world has ever seen; I had over 50 draw tickets at one point, and not a single five-star extreme piece of gear came out of it. I had to buy an additional $30 worth of stuff to try again and, as fate would have it, I finally got that limited time item. Frustrating, to say the least.

But let's say I'm in a region that doesn't have a particular event, item, etc. and I won't be getting it for another 3 to 6 months down the line. Or that, perhaps for legal reasons, I can't get the game in question. For the record, I've written event summaries, sometimes in greater detail than is required, if only to be clear about how it got put together. But do I want to come in and read unmarked spoilers about the character I might be interested in? Surely not. Yes, I realize they're a fact of life when you write for a fan space, but I'd rather play an event and experience it for myself, then write down the things I notice as being good and bad about it in order to make a balanced assessment in a wiki article. And if my area didn't see a particular event, I would want to know why that was the case.

In a "policy regarding upcoming games", which should instead read as a policy for live content, there isn't anything to remind users at all stages that spoilers should be kept to a minimum whenever possible. Some have misinterpreted this as a desire for censorship. That's not the argument I'm trying to make. What I want is for the information to come from verified official sources first and be unembellished by what others might say about that content. Put another way, I don't want feelings about a particular character or its source to influence my mobile battle strategies. I want facts: why would I choose, say, Aranea over Kain? What are their strengths? Weaknesses? Things they can do to improve? If you want to tell me a little bit about them, please don't spoil the plot when you do.

There are a number of other reasons why I think Square Enix is its own worst enemy in mobile, but that's for another time.
