Because masochism is a thing and pain is life and life is pain, wanting or not, I go back to this damm subseries. Ngl, ever since I watched Advent Children, the placements of Kadaj, but especially Loz, were bothering me a lot. Thankfully, I managed to find the same tier list and change them to my liking, and ended up raising some other characters as well (only Denzel went down).

Here's my old one, and in its post I also ranked other characters, and I still stand by those.
Man, looking at this makes me so mad that Before Crisis is unavailable now...... I just can't take its Turks out of my mind, I absolutely love them and really wished they were more knwon around.....
And I'm still not including Remake characters, despite having already watching its cutscenes.

I've played it a second time and as I expected, it's finished in one day. Well, technically, it was only 10 hours, but I've been playing since I woke up, which was around 7a.m till almost dinner, which was around 9:30p.m; so there goes a day. But damm, this definitely was one of the best days of my life. Still gotta do the extra missions and unlock the characters, soundtrack and art gallery, but at least I've revised the story all over again already (including G's cutscene).
Where should I even start?...... I suppose I'll start by gameplay, as that is the first thing I have contact with through the tutorial. Keep in mind I play with a controler, not a keyboard and mouse.
So, gameplay wise, I personally super enjoy. I don't find it difficult to understand and get used to, and this is coming from a person that doesn't really play FPS games (could that be why?). My overall problem tends to be the item's shortcut. Actually, this second time it wasn't that bad, I didn't do as many mistakes as the first time (but that's to be expected). Still, I remember clearly having quite the trouble getting used to it properly, because you use both the left and right directional buttons to use the shortcut, the left moves the items and the right lets you use the selected item. That was my problem; sometimes, I wanted to use a certain item, but by accident pass through it and my mind (as you can clearly expect), instead of keeping pressing the left directional button to reach the item, would think the right directional button would do the trick (it doesn't) and use a wrong item by mistake. I remember that screwing me over a few times during my first playthrough. Still, nothing that you can't get used to, or you can simply open the menu and use the items from there I guess.
One thing that saddens me, but at the same time I can kinda understand, it's the fact Vincent only transforms into Galian Beast when using a Limit Breaker (and story wise, he then becomes playable as Chaos, with Death Penalty, at the final chapter). Death Gigas and Hellmasker never appear, or are even mentioned. Well, I suppose they aren't as iconic or important as Galian Beast and Chaos, even though they are literal references to the Frankenstein monster and Jason (or at least I think they are), and then again, how would you determine which one you become? That just adds to gameplay and the developers most definitely found it unnecessary to add more to it (almost every button is being used already). It could be random, but then people might've not liked it, as the different transformations hold different abilities and stuff. Still, it's not like I've used Vincent's Limit Breaks that much in FFVII to get that attached to them, and I definitely like Galian Beast more than these two. I guess it just saddens me how they are left in the dark.... On the other hand, I'm glad that Vincent recovering his HP when using a Limit Break is still a thing.
I find it interesting the way you level up. You get to choose between using your EXP or transforming it into gil at the end of each chapter. Depending on how many enemies you killed and how far you are in the game, transforming EXP into gil is sometimes the best option. After all, you normally receive high amounts of gil by doing so, and that allows you to better modify and upgrade your weapons, as well as stock up properly on items. Of course, I don't advice to do so in the first chapters of the game. You definitely will want to level up a little in the beginning, which isn't hard (not in Normal difficulty, which is the one I play). I mean, I finished the game in what? Level 20 and something. You definitely don't need more than that.
Speaking of modifying weapons, I find it pretty cool. Well, personally, it's almost as FFVIII and you getting new weapons as if they are upgrades to the previous ones, but still pretty nice (and not really like that, but that's the closest comparison I know, at least that I am currently remembering). I like how there's a certain point where you get to choose from three different options for the same frame. Of course, you only choose one from the three and keep levelling that one up (unless you have three frames, then you can have all three. I personally don't do that. I have one of the stuff? Works for me). Pretty neat stuff.
On the topic of weapons, I find the handgun to be the most useful and probably the one you'll use more. Well, I at least do. I think I used the machine gun more my first time, but this time, due to already knowing what was to come, I definitely went for a different approach. The rifle is still the one I use less, but I did used it more this time around (it was even due to actually use it to kill snipers that I managed to survive an opticional quest).
Still in gameplay, I just want to talk about Materia. Yes, they're here too. But only three: Fire, Blizzard and Thunder. Surprisingly, despite being one of my favorite elements, I never used the Blizzard Materia. Ever. Not even in the tutorial (well, probably did it my first time just to see how it was, but definitely didn't stick to it). Why? First, it's the last one you get of the three, only adquiring it in Chapter 5. Second, I personally find the Thunder Materia to be the most useful. I do use the Fire one while it's the only one I have, but once I get the Thunder Materia, I quickly change, because most of the bosses and enemies end up being machines, so Thunder is the most useful. On top of being the only available materias, they also behave differently. For example, Fire will cause an explosion around the target, while Thunder shoots in a straight line. The different behaviors make certain spells be more useful for certain situations than others, I suppose. For example, one mission in Chapter 11, where you have to defeat 8 enemies that are in a central platform that you can't access. One of the types of enemies there are immune to bullets, so you can only take them down with magic or melee attacks. Since they are unaccessible, using magic is the only option. The formation is simple: one of these in the between of the heavy type soldiers, surrounding the central platform with the heavy type soldiers marking north, south, east and west. I'd say using Fire here is probably the best option, as it also easily damages the adjacent enemies, but nothing stops anyone from using whichever spell they want. I used Thunder anyway.
That seems to be everything important about gameplay. Next, I'd like to give an insight on every chapter, so major spoilers ahead.
Chapter 1: You start the game in Kalm, where a festival to celebrate the survival to the meteorfall is happening. However, Deepground attacks and there goes the happy festival. I gotta say, thanks to this game, Kalm has become one of my favorite places in the FFVII world. First chapter, nothing hard. I love to walk around, even if the town is in flames, it's really cool. This is also where you first meet Shelke and Azul, so that's really cool. Vincent literally goes on "I believe I can fly" moments from time to time there, really cool. And hey, Reeve knows how to use a gun.
Chapter 2: The shortest chapter of the game. Doesn't take more than 15min to finish. I like how the van is called Shadowfox, I love that name. Pretty neat chapter, easily one of my favorites (and no, not just because it's the shortest). I like the chase scene with the guard hounds and stuff. Can't forget Weiss's speech: "The time has come to cleanse this planet. The pure will be "spared" for the cause, while the tainted will be hunted down and exterminated. They shall be slashed, strangled, and slaughtered. Beaten, stabbed, and crushed. Garroted and impaled. Shot and executed without mercy. The time has come to cleanse this world."
Chapter 3: This chapter was my worse last time, but this time it was actually much better. I didn't die this time around, so that's definitely good. Here you are in a town called Edge, which I love the name (plus the joke Reeve makes in Chapter 2 "The people of Edge are on edge"). You first meet Shalua here, as well as Rosso and get to see Nero's darkness take some people away. This is also where you first have a sniper mission. I'm still not that good at snipping itself, but I did manage to survive well this time. Last time I only killed 4 snippers out of 15 and died twice; this time I managed to kill 12 without dying, so that's an awesome improvement. And I also managed to protect the kid and not fail miserably at the very beginning like last time, so I got pretty happy with that. Well, I suppose the fact that I was aware of what was coming kinda helped, though I'm still surprised over the amount of snipers I killed. One thing I like is the boss fight with a heavy armored soldier, that later becomes a more common enemy. That soldier reminded me of Gilgamesh, I legitimately thought that was the Gilgamesh of the game. Well, I suppose that's the reference, if anything.
Chapter 4: Well, you gotta visit WRO headquarters at some point, even if that means you have to faint for it to happen. Too bad the place gets attacked while you're there, uh? Well, not everything is bad, Shalua got to see her sister and you got to see Azul again. So that's cool. If I remember correctly, it is here that you first battle Azul. That was also where I first and only died in my second playthrough. And he was so near death, dammit.
Chapter 5: Of course, Vincent isn't Vincent and a final fantasy vii game isn't a final fantasy vii game if you don't go to the Shinra Manor at some point. Well, that's the place you visit during Chapter 5. It's also where the pretty much obligatory sewer segment is, because there's always one of those at some point. And apparently Sahagins like sewers...... Or at least live there now. It's also the only time you see them. On top of that, is also the chapter with the playable Cait Sith segment. Well, playable so to say, you can't do anything except walk around. After all, Cait Sith wasn't made for battle. So yeah, it's a sneaky mission. But the best part is Nero. Our dark boy finally makes a full appearance! And, you know, kills Cait because why not? But so, that part ends and you're back to the place of nightmares. It's awesome how you can totally identify the mansion you see in FFVII, even with the gameplay being so different. The only big difference is the basement, but no one likes that place, so whatever. I'd be lying if I said that the end of this chapter didn't shock me. Why? Because Yuffie, our famous materia robber, instead of retrieving the Protomateria Rosso just took from Vincent, actually rescues Vincent and lets Rosso have the Protomateria. I swear, when I first saw it (and that means when I watched the cutscenes on Youtube) it shocked me a lot, I wasn't expecting her to actually rescue him and leave without the Protomateria. Shocks me everytime I see it.
Chapter 6: This is where I start to lose count of the chapters lol. It's a bit similar to Chapter 2 in the sense that you're outside, in the open field (so to say). Well, you gotta get to WRO HQ quick because Azul woke up and Deepground came back. The first part is pretty simple, nothing too special about it. But then you get to HQ and that's where the real thing starts. For starters, Shalua is now gone, which is actually very sad and the fact Shelke is still emotionless and slowly recovering her feelings and emotions, to the point of not understanding Shalua's sacrifice, does not make it any better. Shelke also gets bitch slapped by Yuffie, who is far more emotional than her. On the plus side, we then move to the most peaceful chapter of them all.
Chapter 7: This is a no violence chapter. You are in the Shera, Cid's new airship. Literally all you do is speak with the people around, get their references and stuff and move the story foward. Some references made include the first mention of Genesis, a former Highwind crew member and Boco, now a river chocobo. Cid also has some of the best lines, questioning how Reeve pulled everything, wherever he found the money for it, mentioning Shera is also worried about Vincent and of course, his request to then take Vincent to go drink some shots like the good old times. That's definitely the best one. As expected, Yuffie is yet again motion sick. They do make it seem as if she will just puke at any time. But she remains herself and makes her own mentions, namely referring Wutai was also attacked by Deepground, but her old man and the others manage to protect the place so it wasn't as bad as it was elsewhere. She also gets to do her little iconic animation with her arm, I'm glad they made that. And yet, in the middle of some many people, some with more interesting things to hear than others, my most favorite crew member, aside from the one that mentions Genesis, has to be the one that questions Deepground actions, saying they probably don't have a choice after everything they went through down there. I agree, man. They deserve better. And for any fans of space out there, this chapter has an awesome cutscene with it. As a lover for astronomy, I absolutely love it.
Chapter 8: Ah, yes, the other obligatory FFVII place: the train graveyard. Not even here we are safe from it. Yup, you travel through the train graveyard in this chapter. And deal with a bunch of lost children (WRO) that can be really annoying (you already had to deal with them in previous chapters, but I think they got more annoying over time). Before that, you see Vincent and company attack Deepground, Cloud following his boyfriend's footsteps and attack the girl (Rosso), Yuffie and Vincent snowboarding on air alongside a bunch of WRO dudes (does that make it airboarding?). What I mean is a super badass fighting scene. On the plus side, you also get the first G Report here. And to top it all, you have your first and only battle with Rosso. She's quite the challenge, I'll tell you that, but nothing that some running around can't solve. I gotta admit the train graveyard part is probably one of my least favorites of the entire game. I don't know, I'm just not a big fan, I guess. But I do like the other part in the underground passage.
Chapter 9: And here we go to the third obligatory place of the FFVII world: the Shinra Building. Yes, it still stands, very destroyed, but still stands. Tifa also does something useful, for once in her life: she gives us the map of the place. Even though we kinda just passed half of the chapter or are near the end already when she does that..... So, unless that map has Mako Reactor 0, that was kinda useless actually. But we'll ignore that. After all, we end this chapter with Azul and his badass fight! And, you know, Chaos having a seizure and only recovering thanks to a phone. Seems legit. Overall, a nice chapter, with different rooms and challenges around. I somehow missed one of the Deepground files, even though I search the entire place. Well, definitely missed something if I missed that file, but that's not that bad. Honestly, destroying the air mines during the elevator sequences is worse in my opinion. It definitely is more of a pain than some random file.
Chapter 10: And now we enter Deepground's ground. Well, actually we go to an underground city, but that's kinda cool, aside from the amount of snipers that you encounter as you explore the place (snipers are such a pain). You also get the second G Report here, so that's nice. The beginning itself you are just in some platforms and are introduced to a new enemy, Gargoyles, which can be annoying, but I like them. After some exploration, you enter the underground city and are attacked by Deepground soldiers every time you walk. There's a few challenges here and there, including an opticional one of killing 100 soldiers without going back to refill on items and bullets and stuff. You gotta kill them all in one go. My first time playing I failed, the closest I got was 91 soldiers. I eventually gave up, because I wanted the story more than anything, but this time I actually managed to defeat them all, first try. You get a Moogle doll item that has literally no purpose other than "Congratulations, you did this opticional quest" and can be sold for 35000, so obviously I sold it. Gotta upgrade my weapons, alright? That ain't cheap. But past that part, and you have a few more challenges, Vincent is attacked by darkness, even more challenges, and then there's one of getting 4 items, for which you need to collect a bunch of cardkeys. I eitheir used one wrong, or legitimately didn't find one, which made me only collect one item. Perhaps next time I'll get them all. And after that tiresome and time consuming search for cardkeys, it's time to fight our black bean, Nero. I always look forward to this moment. It's Nero, how can I not? My favorite attack is when he spins like crazy on the ground. I find it funny lol. But even better than the fight itself, is his dialogue, the one before and the one after. I believe his most iconic line is this one: "Dear Weiss. Powerful Weiss. The only person who ever loved me, and the only person I will ever love.", but don't take my word for it (and yes, I did memorize it. It just doesn't leave my head). Anyway, he says that before the fight/dance (because he sticks to dances apparently. That's just a way of saying), but the sass that happens after the fight is a whole other thing on its own. Yuffie comes to assist Vincent, but no one cares. Nero says Weiss is calling him and Vincent is more worried about Shelke, eventually sighing because now he has to babysit two girls. Ouch.
Chapter 11: We're near the end now. Somehow, Mako Reactor 0 is really big. Honestly, this is one of my favorite chapters, if not my absolute favorite for many different reasons. First, it's the only one I can surely complete its missions, getting an S on all four of them (they are very simple, after all). Second, the third and last G Report is found here. Finally, you battle Nero, for the last time, and later Weiss. But before that, you battle an airship, basically an evolution from the first boss of the game. I really like this boss fight. I know, very random thing to bring up, but I like it, ok? Now let's focus on Nero. Can we speak of the fact he creates an entire different dimension with his darkness? Thank you. Yes, that's where you go and fight him, in a complete different place that he created. I already knew he becomes a spider-like enemy during the Arachnero fight (even the name says so), but RK doesn't make it look as terrifying as it truly is. Seriously, an arachnophobic most definitely wouldn't pass that fight on their own. While I am arachnophobic, not every single spider scares me, only the big ones and very disproportionate ones (and guess what? Arachnero is both). Still, the fight itself is so cool, the fear goes way, if just for the little bits when you can't clearly see how terrifying Arachnero is. And then.... He falls into the lava. And we cry. Joking, he's alive. He has Weiss to protect, he can't die just like that. Gorgonero's fight is pretty simple, but I guess that's what makes me like it so much. So, you defeat Nero, but he ain't giving you the pleasure of claiming his death. He ain't gonna give anyone that pleasure. You have what's personally one of the saddest moments in the entire history of Final Fantasy, Nero getting impaled by Weiss's hand. It's just..... Argh. Everything is wrong with that simple action, ok? Even Vincent questions wtf is going on right there. But then you discover it's all Hojo's fault, so you have all the right to be angry and beat the crap of the guy, but that's only possible during the second fight. The first fight against Weiss/Hojo, you have to lose, which is awful, because I just wanna beat the crap out of Hojo right there. But it's fine, after all, Vincent isn't the one that truly ends Hojo, that merit goes to Nero. Before that, you do get to see some matrix level scene between Weiss and Vincent, so that's cool. But the best part of the whole game is now, when Nero goes on a "I lived" moment and has an heartwarming scene with his brother. Kyaaaaah, I love that part! Hojo got what he rightfully deserved.
Chapter 12: The final chapter and a really awesome one. Omega appeared nonetheless and it's up to Chaos/Vincent to save the world. Who would have thought? The emo depressed of the group is saving the world by himself. Anyway, after some badass cutscenes between Chaos and Omega and Shelke giving the Protomateria back to Vincent, plus Cid lighting up another cigarette while leaving everything up to Vince (such a loveable bond lol), you get to play as Chaos, with Death Penalty, which deals fixed damage (supposedly deals more damage from each enemy Vincent kills, but that doesn't really happen......). Some normal walking around, killing the dark creatures that say "Nero is here too, man" and you eventually enter and exit Omega. However, this segment is made more epic thanks to the background music, "Longing". It has no right to be this awesome! You're just climbing up some random place, it has no need to be this epic! But I love it. Gackt it awesome. So that happens. Eventually you get to a chill "boss" fight, so to say. You're literally just destroying some crystals that don't even attack you, but the dark creatures do. And after another matrix level scene between Weiss and Vincent, it's time to kill Omega Weiss, the final boss. It isn't hard. Pretty chill, but really cool the fact the place changes over time. And that brings us to the end. Vincent disappears for weeks, no one can find him, Shelke is filling her ten years hole in her life, and the last scene is Vincent leaving Lucrecia's cave to find a waiting Shelke, now in casual clothes. Unless, you have find all three G reports, which add an extra scene of Genesis waking up thanks to Weiss's fallen body and flying both out of the cave. The close up on G's face is still pretty terrifying. He somehow looked better in Crisis Core (well, Crisis Core did came after Dirge of Cerberus).
And that makes the game. You can see what chpaters I like the most, I guess. Chapter 2, 7, 10 and 11 are for sure. Super love those. But I do love the entire game.
On an overall note, I love the fact the theme of this game contrasts the one of the original game, from healing, life and positive things to death, guilt and negative things. Definitely fits Vincent. And I personally enjoy these themes more.
Moral of the story: corruption will take over the non-corrupt, darkness beats light. (It isn't really that, but honestly, you can't say this isn't true).
Now I'd like to talk about the characters themselves.
Vincent: Gotta love the fact our vampire boy is the badass protagonist. Sadly, he becomes an errand boy, basically, but I suppose that's every protagonist at some point. Definitely love his attitude throughout the game, getting tired of having to babysit Shelke and Yuffie, feeling uncomfortable with too many good vibes around him, but warming up to accept his past and move on. He still could stop blaming himself for Lucrecia's mistakes.
Yuffie: She's still her goofy self, but I do like the fact she has become more than just a materia hunter and started caring more about people.
Shelke: She definitely has one of the best, if not the best, growth of the game. Starting as emotionless due to the experiments made on her, to eventually rediscovering her emotions and feelings, to the point of being willing to sacrifice herself and give her all for the sake of others. How can someone dislike her when she has one of the best character developments I've ever seen in such a short game. Heck, she's falling to Phoenix's level from Jak and Daxter: The Last Frontier, the game I played before Dirge of Cerberus, which is also a relatively short game.
Reeve and Cait Sith: I like the fact that Shinra no longer has that much power and instead Reeve is the one in charge of this new stuff, commanding and funding the WRO. I like that they gave him more character development and importance. About Cait Sith, I super wonder how the hell does Reeve control it, because they appear side by side at one point and Reeve doesn't have any sort of controller with him. Like, how the hell does this thing move? In Before Crisis you get to move it yourself with a controller, but how the hell does Reeve do it? And his little segment isn't bad, but not one of favorite moments. It is a little change of gameplay style, so that's kinda cool, but still.
Azul: I love his design so much! He always stands out with his non-human eyes and ears. Heck, he looks like what? An elf? Not exactly sure which mythical creature he would be with that face, but man, do I love it. I obviously love the fact his name is Portuguese, but it pains me that he himself says it the Portuguese way while everyone else says it the Spanish way. Please, decide yourselves! Still, since the owner of the name says it the Portuguese way, my headcanon is he is Portuguese; alternative choice is he is Galician. I just really adore this man no matter what everyone says. Many others stay above, but he ain't losing to many of this world that easily.
Rosso: First, her Russian accent is her most important trait and, no matter what, it has to stay. Therefore, if she is to appear in the Remake, they better eitheir keep the same voice actor or manage to find someone else to do her accent. Hell, I love her voice. And her design, I find it really cool, especially the fur cape that covers the back of her legs (leg cape, how I like to call it). I really like how prideful she is, that's another of her big traits. She legitimately commits suicide to not allow Vincent or anyone to have the pleasure of killing her, as that would mean they are above her, and she doesn't like that idea (Weiss being the exception. Not sure if Nero is too).
Nero: Hands down my favorite of the entire game. Sure, I love Vincent, Shelke, Weiss and pretty much everyone important in this game, but no one surpasses Nero. This black porcupine will always be on top for me. I love his devotion and protection over his brother, even if it can be a little questionable at times. It kinda bothers me how, when they say his full name, Nero the Sable, it sounds like Nero disabled. Not cool, Square. And don't get me started on how they pronounce Nero. Still, he is awesome and that's a fact! It always surprises me how nimble he is, to the point of dodging Shelke's attacks while still having his hands confined, remembering Shelke is one of the fastest Tsviet members. His darkness and the stuff he can do with it is a whole other level of badassness. I always love when he is present. His tattoos are so cool too, but I kinda don't see the point of having his hands restrained if he can free them by himself; even more, why not just have the hands free every time? But it's still beautiful and awesome, so I don't care. And of course, gotta love the big "Fuck you" he threw at Hojo lmao. Best moment ever easily.
Weiss: I really like him, despite him not appearing much and you not being able to truly see him for who he is. That's what I find sad, as the first time Vincent sees him personally, Weiss is actually Hojo and later Weiss is basically Omega. So that's kinda sad, but the little moment this white porcupine has with his brother just shows you how strong their bond really is, that not even Hojo can meddle with it, and it's hella wholesome. I like his gunblade katanas a lot, and the fact he is given some typical samurai details for when he is inside Omega. There aren't that many samurais as it might seem in Final Fantasy.
Cid: Square HAS to keep the same voice actor. I doubt anyone else can give Cid his iconic voice. Seriously, take a listen and you'll know what I mean. It fits so well! I like how Yuffie, Vincent and Reeve get more development, something they lacked in the original (Yuffie and Vincent namely for being opticional, thus people might have not even known they existed), and Cid is the next in line, seeing as he is the last member you get from the obligatory party and the other with less development in the original game. I love his dialogue, that never gets old. And Cid, you can't take your hands of the wheel, goddammit! You don't want Shera to crash, do you now? Lmao. That moment was funny.
Lucrecia: Still don't like her and honestly, because of how many "I'm sorry"s she says, I dislike her more. Like, ok damm, I heard ya, you're sorry, now shut up. Damm, that's literally her in a nutshell in this game.
Hojo: Still a better character than the main main cast of FFVII. Sad thing, he didn't die in that game. Good thing, he dies in this one, once and for all, and it's our boy Nero that does so. And for G's sake, not everything is a freaking experiment, man.
Extra characters: So, characters like Cloud, Tifa and Barret only appear for short periods of time. They appear for the big fight. I mean, it's nice that they decided to join and later search for Vincent when he disappered and stuff, but personally, their only good thing is the fact they are in their Advent Children garments. Red XIII appears literally just once, but that's enough for you to see him shine, literally. The way the light effect is makes it look like he is shining and it's a blessing to the eye. The WRO troups are just a bunch of annoying people, same for the townsfolk. Then there's Genesis with his secret ending, which is magnificent, except the close up on his face, that is scary. Oh, and what do you know, the one thing FFVII can't live without is here too for one cutscene. Yeah, Sephiroth in the middle of the flames also appears here, in black and white. Still not nearly as cool as anyone else in Gaia. Oh, can't forget Vincent's father, Grimoire. A former co-worker of Lucrecia.... Because they didn't change her appearance, she eitheir looks stuck in age or that she could possibly be Vincent's mother. I believe she is far younger, but since they didn't change her it doesn't give that impression, but Grimoire is still super awesome, even he just appears for one scene.
With those out of the way, I think I have only music and graphics to talk about. Graphics I've made a post about it, so I'll pass on them here. But the high rendered cutscenes are awesome. But so is the whole game.
Now music. Music is a masterpiece. Definitely go listen to "Longing" and "Redemption", the musics with lyrics, and thus Gackt's voice. Seriously, can't get them out of my head. The rest of the soundtrack is super cool too. Heck, just the menu musics are awesome, turning the game on gets me all excited.
Easily a 9/10 game. Not 10/10 because there's the little things that I kinda don't like, but I super recommend everyone to try it out, or at least get the story of this game. It might help some confused minds about Vincent.
My father described it as 2D-ish. I couldn't quite understand why, but now I think I understand why he said that.
I mean, look at Vincent's cape. It's basically a piece of paper, cut and painted to look 3D. Well, then there's the animation that makes it fly around, which is really cool, but doesn't change the 2D-ish feeling of the graphics. I suppose Cid's jacket shows that better, as it literally looks like someone simply paintted those brown lines and that's all lol.
Of course, the graphics are 3D and pretty neat imo. Not necessarily as realistic as FFX or FFXII; they seem a little more..... cartoon-ish, so to say. But honestly, I think that makes this game even better.

OMG! It's here! I got Dirge of Cerberus.
This. Made. My day.
And the disc is beautiful! Look at it!
AAAAAHHHH!!!!! I LOVE IT ALREADY AND I HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED!
Just the fact I have it makes me happy. The fact that it is my birthday present makes me even more happy!
Still angry about the fact they have two pages speaking of characters, and there's only Reeve, Yuffie, Vincent, Shelke, Azul and Rosso. Bich, why no Cid, Nero, Weiss and while you're at it Genesis?! Y'all the forgetting the true important characters! And I'm not even asking for Hojo and Lucrecia. Shalua should have been included too.
But enough random rant for something completely unimportant. I should take a look at the manual before playing. It will help me understand the controls a lot.
Lol, I doubt anyone would ever get so happy for receiving this game.
Well, now I'm even more motivated to finish FFX-2. Good thing I went to play more yesterday and manage ro finsh a few more locations. I guess I now only have the hard ones to deal with. Except Macalania, that one's chill.
