Apparently FFIXR is done, and does seem to be a remake completely different from FFVIIR, in that it's not some alternate universe (or making what's bad even worse cough cough), but an actual expansion of the original game. I'm excited to see where this goes.

Yoshi-P has sorta semi come forth and said that, if it exists/happens, it probably won't be a single game like many probably expect. Which, I can understand, honestly. FFIX has four discs in the Ps1 version, so I can see a Remake of the game, with expansion on certain points and hopefully not a complete alternative universe like a certain Remake is doing cough FFVII Remake trilogy cough having to be divided in more than one game. It might not be exactly ideal for sales, but still, I get it.
