Assuming you mean XIV, the game is free up to the end of Stormblood (level 70 content), at which point you need to buy the game to progress any further. Once you buy the game there is a subscription specifically for the game, but you don't need PS+ (You can get an additional free teleport point if you have it, however).

Also don't buy the game until either you're finished with the free trial or you really want something that's not included as part of it as it's an irreversible change.
