Personally, I know next to zero about the game, I haven't watched it yet.

BUT! A friend of mine streamed it when it first came out and at first he was a skeptical, because he apparently hates the hack and slash style of FFXV, and was aftaid the gameplay would turn out to be like that. Apparently it's not. I never watched any of the streams, so I have no idea how it really goes.

Anyway, this friend of mine, they REALLY hate FFXV, like REALLY REALLY hate it, solely because of the gameplay as far as I see it (perhaps some story points too, but they usually just rant about the gameplay); and because of gameplay too they don't seem to be big fans of the FFVII Remake. HOWEVER! They LOVED FFXVI. I never watched a stream, like I said, but even so, you could tell they were excited to continue playing it just from the other messages they sent on Discord.

If my friend's excitement is anything to go by, I definitely recommend it. I mean, I recommend it nonetheless, there's a dog as a main character, kinda? How can you say no to that? Plus, it's a whole different game and story for you to discover, but yeah.

I played it and it is a fun game with good mechanics, not the best final fantasy in my opinion but a very decent entry. The world is great and the villain is the best i have Seen in ages. I reccomend buying it if you want a nice story and some awesome characters.

I still have to watch Magemasher's playthrough. He's finished it by now. Of course, unlike FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, etc., he won't know all the game's secrets coz he played it as soon as it came out.

Month late but honestly I don't feel like doing a post on it. I really enjoyed the game and think it's the second best FF since X. It didn't deserve the game of the year award but I definitely think it deserved to be a nominee and it's definitely a game i will go back to in a few years. 9.5 I recommend it.
