The only other option I can think of is Bugenhagen, but I'm not sure if there's any other slightly relevant scientist (probably not). Anyway, I left it as an Other option just in case.

It also doesn't say "scientists of Shinra" because, as far as I'm aware, Shalua never worked for Shinra. She first was part of Avalanche (in Before Crisis, so the really crazy and messed up one), probably became some sort of freelancer after the organization was stopped, and then joined the WRO, and got access to Shinra files through there.

Anyway, my vote goes to Grimoire. Thanks to him we have Vincent, aka best character, and Nero got his darkness powers thanks to his research (even if all else were very unethical methods). Grimoire himself is pretty cool. I've already made a post about him in the past. He has the same JP voice actor as Weiss, that's fun.

Hojo for me, his cold means to gain whatever he wants for his Experiments. With some very pervers views sometimes makes him not just the basic cooky scientist archetype, but a far deeper character. Plus fighting him for the first time as a child in ff7 remains a disturbing but interesting experience.

I’d go with Gast.

I say that Mysterious Lucrecia Crescent lookalike of The Lost Episode of Dirge of Cerberus, since she looks so much like Doctor Lucrecia Crescent herself, and she triggered a flashback memory where Vincent and Lucrecia had a dance to a radio tune, also, the Lucrecia Lookalike is a researcher as well, and she could've been the new love interest of Vincent Valentine, if Dirge of Cerberus got a sequel.
