Hi , I'm new to final fantasy games , suggest some good ones that at i can start with
Well, first things first. You have to understand that, unless the game explicitly says so, the games aren't really connected with one another on a close scale. (It's a bit complex, better to start worrying about it after you get a good grasp of the franchise). In other words, they don't exactly have a order to be played in, as their stories don't exactly connect with one another, unless it's prequels and sequels, but that's obvious.
With that in mind, any game will probably suffice.
FFI is the first one. A very simple game, you might get a bit lost at points due to some lack of proper directions, but it's still enjoyable and not difficult.
FFVII is the most popular one, and also has a Remake already, although we only have the first part of three yet, and a DLC episode. Personally, I hate FFVII and it's the worst, but what's my opinion worth against the entirety of the world?
FFIX and FFVI are also very acclaimed and loved games on their own, and are also two of my favorites. Great story, great cast of characters, unexpected plot twists, simple gameplay, etc. FFIX was also said to be the game closest to what Final Fantasy truly is by the developers.
FFX is personally a great game for starters due to the captivating story and easy going gameplay. It has a sequel, FFX-2, and some other extra contents, but playing just FFX is a good start (for the sequel, you might want a guide).
FFXV, one of the most recent games (as in, 8 years old though), also became rather famous, but it's a bit more 50/50. I personally never played it myself, but from what I know, it's not a bad game.
There's also the new game, FFXVI. No idea about that one, but I did hear good things from it's demo, so I don't know.
Another very famous one is FFXIV, that one is a MMO, aka a multiplayer game. I don't play it, I'm not into that sort of game, but if you want to give it a try there's other people here that do and can help you.
Speaking of asking for help, regardless of which game you decide to play first, if you need any help, you can ask here and you ought to receive it.
One thing is certain. You might want to start from the mainline games (the ones with numerals), before moving to the spin-offs (like Dissidia, Tactics, Type-0, and those games that don't have a numeral).
As mentioned above, the games all take place in separate universes with no connection aside from Gilgamesh from FFV traveling to a few of the other games' universes.
Personally I'd start with VII. It's one of the two fan-favorites, other being IX, but you might want to get more used to FF style before playing it, plus it contains references to other games that you'd only get if you've played them first. There are those who dislike VII, of course, but I loved it.
Or you could go with FFVI. Of the six 2D games (using the miniature Zelda-esque sprites with an overhead view) it is the fan-favorite.
Whatever you go with, if you want you could do a discussion about your playthrough and we can give you some tips. (Of particular note, there are two missable items in FFVII called Ribbons which you can equip to block all debuffs)
Both reaction above this one are really good. I agree that for starters ffx is a good start. Although i have the feeling that going back to older installments after a 3d one is difficult due to the rough graphics.
Of the older ones, the jobsystems of 3 and 4 are great and you have a remake with ok graphics to play on you Phone. Ff16 is awesome but it is very different in playstyle then of the rest of the series.
Last thing, im jealous of you i wish i could play ff7, 8 or 9 again with no memory of them. Either one you choose it will be fun!
FF3 pixel remaster is pretty straightforward aside from having to level up jobs in addition to characters, and much easier than other versions.
They're all good! It depends on what your preferences are. There's no bad place to start with this series. ...Except maybe FFXI. Don't start with FFXI.
If you want to play a more modern, action-focused RPG, you could start with FFXV, FFVII Remake, or FFXVI. Of those, the only one I've played is FFXV, but I've heard very good things about the other two.
If you want the classic Final Fantasy experience, start with one of the games in the Pixel Remaster collection (FFI - FFVI). My personal favorite there is FFIV, but lots of people say FFVI is the best one.
If you don't want to go back to the pixel art days, but don't want to start with one of the newer games either, you can't go wrong with FFVII - FFX. FFX would be my preference there - its battle system is so satisfying, and the story and characters are wonderful.
Lastly, if you like MMOs, FFXIV is an awesome one. But probably not the best place to start unless you're already familiar with the genre.
I'd recommend 10. Fairly straightforward, great battle system, good story, amazing OST (Fleeting Dream is probably my favorite from the entire series, at least tied with You're Not Alone from 9).
4 is my personal favorite, 7 is the most popular, 6 is a must play for any fan, 9 is probably the most beloved (it was considered a love letter to fans of the series).
What do you think?
