It's just weird..... She literally just left the Chamber of the Faith with the new Aeon. There's not really anything else that should happen for Yuna to have Shiva during the battle, it should come naturally. But try this too: when Seymour calls Anima, have Tidus on the party. He says "Yuna, the new Aeon!". It shouldn't be required (I myself think I haven't listen to it sometimes and I got no problem), but might as well.

Yeah….I’ll keep him in, and I had him do the “talk” thing to the enemy but only once….maybe doing it more than once will trigger it? I’ll try those things

You only Talk once, then the command disappears.

I'm currently playing the game. Although I do agree Tidus is whiny at times, but honestly he is pretty relatable character in terms of being bullied as a child by parents. Also in the game he does learn on more as he narrates "His story"

I like Tidus personally, he's not top 5 in terms of MC's but I still like him and his arc over the course of the game

I mean that's finebut I really like him cuz to me he's relatable. And unlike any other protagonist in the series, he's the only to narrate the events on the game and gives his thoughts/opinions about it. The closest that thing to this that a protagonist has done is Squall with him talking to himself in his head.

But yeah, Tidus is an actual love/hate character and isn't even the most popular in his game. Auron stands out the most to fans as a character so not liking Tidus is a common thing

While he's not on my top 5 MC, I view him as the perfect embodiment of a new player, which certainly helps FFX be a great game for starters (alongside easy gameplay and cool story), because Tidus himself is new to Spira and its reality, just like any new player when starting to play a game. And that's why writing his dialogue for the first half of the game was so easy. They just needed him to voice common questions whose answers are essentially Spiran common sense for the player (and Tidus) to understand where they are. I love Lulu thanks to that and how she comes to grow to inevitable talk about a person, place or situation without Tidus asking anything.

I don't mind Tidus, I like him, he's ok. I also kinda relate to him a bit, which certainly helps me like him a bit, but I'm still 80% Squall's genderbend over Tidus's.
