As you may know, while waiting for Final Fantasy V to release on Pixel Remaster I played through Final Fantasy IV on it, since I purchased the whole I-VI bundle for Steam. Initially I found it a bit frustrating due to new party members being underleveled and some like Edward or Tellah being weaker, but eventually got more into it and found it more fun once I was able to battle effectively.
However... Today they did an update, which fixed some bugs, but this included increasing the enemies' speed and reducing the amount of experience gained from enemies. They knew this would make the game harder and apologized. I know they needed to get the bugs out but it's making me feel reluctant to ever replay it.
However, that's not the one I'm thinking about replaying once I've finished researching FFXII (which I think my favorite character is Balthier so far) and FFXV. I am thinking of replaying FFVI.
Now, the previous two times I've beaten it on the high quality Steam version. But of course, as part of the Pixel Remaster bundle with I-V, VI is among them.
Should I try that version next? I know it won't show Terra, Edgar, etc. as clearly as before, and the soundtrack will be remastered, maybe for the better like Flight of the Enterprise, maybe not so much (I think I didn't quite enjoy some of the FFII songs on PR as much as PSP).
One thing that might be a factor: I saw a video of the Kefka fight to see what his death scene looks like here (which does look cooler than the version I played), and I also listened to the songs of the first three phases, and I'm not sure but I THINK Rest doesn't cast Repose when you kill him, unlike in the version I played. That annoyed me as it leaves you without one of your original four for Kefka and could hinder your plan if it's Locke (or Gogo with Steal) and you were planning to steal a Megalixir from him to recover from Heartless Angel.
Did they cut Repose from this version? Should I play through FFVI on Pixel Remaster? Maybe FFII as well to see how it plays compared to PSP version?
If I do of course I might not give as many updates and questions as before seeing as how I have already beaten both of them twice and I'm not changing my strategy/party this time like on my fifth FFVII playthrough.
