It's cool that they are a mage that can use swords, making it ideal for physical damage too.

As for magic, Red Mage usually can't use as much magic as a White Mage or Black Mage can't, though they have both types of spells and dualcast is a thing of them, which is cool.

So, yeah. They're chill. Suitable for physical damage, which is what most matters to me, and of anything there's some backup spells on their sleeves.

Agreed. They did peak with FFI via Red Wizard because they could access black and white magic up to level 8. Plus, in the MMO FF's + FFXII Zodiac Age, they had a great repretoire of skills (i.e. in FFXI they had refresh that was essentially MP Regen + Dualcast for crazy DPS.) FFXIV has dualcast and they even get the nickname, "Rez-Mage" because they could dualcast Verraise to resurrect fallen allies super quickly. Also for FFXII:ZA, the spell, Dark is extremely strong for how early you get it, as it deals ~200-300 damage and their ultimate spell, Ardor, is busted when paired with the Archer's Burning Bow, and the Oil ailment.
