Oh and also fun fact: FFI Garland was Sakaguchi's favorite villain of the series, I don't think it's confirmed but I think this is why he named that old man "Garland" in the reference of his favorite villain, but then again I might be wrong on that part.

It would explain why Garland is the only main villain whose name has been reused. (Not counting "Cloud of Darkness" (Cloud) or "Emperor" (Emperor Gestahl, but apparently FFII's Emperor has a name, Mateus, even though I don't think it's said in game)

Yeah that Emperor part shouldn't be a reference, so I totally agree with you cuz both hold the same title but different real names, hell Gestahl is more mentioned by name than just "Emperor" by itself.

Also Clouds name also isn't a reference , it's more of a coincidence. It's to contrast from Zack according to this Wiki:

So yes, Garland is the only one to have the referenced name if I'm correct, and this is safe to assume since FFIX is full of references

Crazy that Yuna's losing to both Rinoa and Dagger I thought she was more popular, let alone Vanille. FFVIII gets hated a lot and so does Squall, despite being a popular protagonist but gets still gets hated on regardless. So I do expect Rinoa kinda getting hated but I was wrong, also Yuna is very beloved to the fans and arguebly the most popular female character only losing to Areith and Tifa

Penelo actually receiving a fair amount of votes. Considering she is so hated inside FFXII, for some reason, I wasn't expecting other people to vote for her, or at least not as much as they did.

Yeah I was surprised that Vanille is second too, considerong that FFXIII is known to be arguebly the most hated RPG in history, but she gets credit. I think she deserves it though, she seems like a great character and her JP VA, Yukari Fukuiis a great VA so some extra points there.

For Penelo, I mean I expected her to be the lowest vote cuz FFXII is underrated and that she's hated. Idk how much she's hated but I get the general idea but I also feel like Vaan is hated more for not being the "protagonist" according to people. But Vaan wouldn't count since he had nothing to do with this list
